JAHill Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Seeing all these off-topic posts, I infer no MAJOR work was done today?
74Gibson Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 yeah we've become bored because ground work is not all that exciting. Back on topic, is anyone as excited about the ravine as I am. I think they did an awesome job using the land. Plus, with the minimilist supports, stadium seating and open air design we're gonna feel lilke we are attached to nothing.
G-Force Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Judging by this thread some of us are already attached to Diamondback..
The Interpreter Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 And some of us have wanted to be since April 7, 2001.....
G-Force Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 I might find myself wondering why people would be thinking this since opening day 2001 with the release of Rugrats Runaway Reptar and Wild Thornberrys River Adventure..... but hillie-ho on with my day!
The Interpreter Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Well, some were spending that opening day in the night row having a great adventure, Batman!... Paramount's Kings Island opened April 7 in 2001....and Nickelodeon Central opened that spring...
The Interpreter Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Sometimes I even confuse myself. At times like that I ask myself what a person of great integrity would do? For instance, is that what Dolly would? Or Kenny would?
G-Force Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Or as Dwight K. Shrute would say, "I ask myself, Would an idiot do that? And if he would I will not do that thing."
CoastersRZ Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Those were some wickedly bad puns Interpreter! And from the looks of the images on the webcam, work is progressing nicely on the station. Maybe not at a lightning pace, but it is progressing nevertheless.
JAHill Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Epic-ally bad puns! XD Yup, its a bit hard to see, but you can easily tell there is station work!
G-Force Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 I wonder what we will be seeing tomorrow. It looks like it will be snowy with some wind, might not see much done tomorrow.
The Interpreter Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Don't stop thinking about tomorrow!
Beast1979 Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 If you look onto next week you will see mid-high 40s and low winds.
Beast1979 Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Looks like they have fixed the webcam into one position.
RailRider Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 And to think Terpy, you will be able to spend opening day like a King enjoying a night row with a splash. I believe it is Paramount to understand where we have been and to give credit where due, after all it is only Fair... Enjoy my friend and save the nickles on gas... What we anticipate seldom occurs, what we least expected generally happens. ~Benjamin Disraeli
The Interpreter Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Well done, my friend. It will be a great adventure indeed to ride Diamondback at our beloved Kings Island...
firehawkboy Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Looks like they have fixed the webcam into one position. Actually BEAST1979, if you look at the time, it's frozen at 7:52.
74Gibson Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 and it's hard to see but it looks like Casper the Friendly White Crane was lifting a grey support. Terpy you crack me up. This is probably already well known and topic for a different thred but do you guys get together @ KI? Like a KICentral day?
The Interpreter Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 There are such events. See especially: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=15141
74Gibson Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 I think the wasps came back and stole the webcam.
Beast1979 Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 and it's hard to see but it looks like Casper the Friendly White Crane was lifting a grey support. Terpy you crack me up. This is probably already well known and topic for a different thred but do you guys get together @ KI? Like a KICentral day? There was one last year, one in August I attended, and will be one this winter. I saw Terpy and I didn't know it. I will keep my eyes peeled from now on!
Whatever6750 Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Dont know if this has been said before but im just wondering. When they build steel coasters like this in the winter if come spring / summer when the steel warms and expands if they have any kind of problems? Maybe they have to go adjust bolts or something?
firehawkboy Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 ^Hmm... You know, that is a good question. I will find out now, unless someone else does before me.
flightoffear1996 Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 That is probally factored in like in bridges before they build it.
tigellinus Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 ^^Cue CoasterRZ to help learn us on such wonderings!!!
