FOFreak Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Yeah, I checked KICentral's Photo Gallery first, but when they weren't there I went straight for KIDiamondback! I just can't wait for that hammerhead to go up!
pyrocoasterkid Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Holy head/arm chopper, Batman! Courtesy of Don I hope that's as close as it looks.. Great pix.
Thrill_Biscuit Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 I think I'll ride in the middle 'stadium' seats! (I fall for head choppers all the time. Just can't fight the flinch!)
KIFAN! Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 ^^ I'm headin straight for the back And I too fall for them all the time but I love them! Thay give a great rush!
KIFAN! Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 ^^^ The closer the better but just not too close
Beast1979 Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 I can so vividly see the first testing train flying through that element and the stadium seats whamming right into that!!
KIFAN! Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 I can so vividly see the first testing train flying through that element and the stadium seats whamming right into that!! AHHHHHH Dont think thoughts like that!!!! I cant wait for April any longer! can you imagine how much longer we would have to wait if that happened!!!!
G-Force Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Imagine the looks on our faces if when we are watching the webcam during testing and then seeing the statium seats hit, I think a few of would need to go to the hospital and many more would need years of mental recovery.

Cause i would know it wont open this year
pyrocoasterkid Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 ^That's not necessarily true. Maverick was built and tested.. it was found something was wrong with the heartline, redesigned, deconstructed the heartline, and rebuilt it in 2 weeks or so... And only opened a few weeks late.
The Interpreter Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 ^That's not necessarily true. Maverick was built and tested.. it was found something was wrong with the heartline, redesigned, deconstructed the heartline, and rebuilt it in 2 weeks or so... And only opened a few weeks late. If you REALLY believe that timeline and version of events, I have a bridge in Brooklyn I will sell you...cheap!
pyrocoasterkid Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Well it couldn't have been known before trains started testing, and I believe that was in April. So at most a month, wouldn't you think?
Monroe Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 I know plenty of engineers that are betting men. Just remember that 2+2=4, but that does not always apply to formulas for elements. (Although there are some on this board that will disagree with me and I encourage that) There are too many variables, from weight all the way down to what kind of bearing they use in the wheel hubs. In short what I am saying, is that I am sure they had questions regarding that element and were prepared to change it out if needed. What I really would like to know is who won the bet? (Insert Interp comment below)
The Interpreter Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Insert: Those were designing engineers, in both senses of the word. (Heard behind the barn: See, Henry, I told you so!) And some of them were probably designing (and betting) WOMEN. (Terpy...who just HAD to!) Also know that the design/culture/environment at INTAMIN is not the same as that at B & M...as everything about both companies so richly reveals! And finally, as Monroe so wisely indicated, there is no way all that engineering work took place in the mere time stated....it was clear that both alternatives were provided for from the beginning...as in, we will try this, but if it doesn't work, we are ready with this.
skaterboy22101 Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 So, just to let you all know........SNOW ON THE WORKSITE
Beast1979 Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 ^He speaks the truth! Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!!!!
Beast1979 Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Here in Cincy we should get about 1-2 more inches of snow by days end.
Captain Nemo Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Honestly will they bump winter season back! December 21 just does not seem very fitting.
Beast1979 Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Well in 2 weeks it's supposed to go back up to the 50s.
G-Force Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Well in 2 weeks it's supposed to go back up to the 50s. I hope not, I really want a white Christmas!
Beast1979 Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 ^Sorry dude, but you can thank the Jet Stream for it. http://www.accuweather.com/us/oh/cincinnat...=1&metric=0
