Best New Ride of 2008

Featured Replies

So, what are the top contenders for Best New Ride of 2008? I haven't heard much on the subject, so could you guys post your opinions on the subject?

Thanks!

I have no idea...but I am certain what is the best new US ride of 2009...at least of those that have been publicly announced!

Exactly!

No contest...Behemoth!!! Best B&M hyper ever, and my fear is that D-back won't beat it next year, but I'm still holding out hope...

Otherwise, Fahrenheit was VERY disappointing to say the least!! Steel Hawg I haven't been on yet (sad considering I live in Indianapolis), but that's not going to contend anyway. Then you have the woodies Ravine Flyer II and Evel Knevel, which I have been on and are very solid, but again not contending. I haven't been to HRP yet, but have heard Led Zeppelin's nothing special...that's pretty much it for anything legitimately new.

I've heard great things about T-Express in South Korea (which I hope to maybe get to in 09), but my hunch is despite the length and maybe more air that El Toro's bigger size and faster pacing still makes it better.

So I absolutely expect to see the Golden Ticket Award banner for Best New Ride for 2008 plastered on the front of Behemoth's station (like with Maverick last year) when I travel back up north again later this fall!!

Not to take anything away from Behemoth, but the best new ride for 2008 has to be RFII.

The elements Behemoth have are quite thrilling, just not unique as they once were.

Now RFII has elements that have not been seen on a wood coaster in sometime.

...but then again, my opinion has been called erie at times.

;)

Oh, go jump in the lake!

J/K! Good to have you back...drop by often...and annoy/entertain/amuse/inform us all, at which you excel!
