Beast1979 Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Jesus they really hyped a boomerang! I understand going through the teaser stuff with Behemoth, Maverick, and Diamondback, but for a Boomerang? I am, though, excited that they utilized a new train design, it does look like the head banging will be minimized with those. Quote
PREMiERdrum Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 "Coral track with teal supports." This was the new paint scheme it was supposed to get last year at Geauga. Just thought that was interesting. Quote
RailRider Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Good name for a boomer. Glad to see they are utilizing the new Vekoma trains. I wonder if there is success with the new Vekoma trains on CC if CF will look at installing these at their other parks Quote
Thrill_Biscuit Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Whew! I was expecting a cookie-cutter hyper before I clicked on that link! Quote
marlfox_21 Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Can we change the name of Invertigo to Forest Cobra or something? Quote
RailRider Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Concrete Cobra Or even the dreaded Parking Lot Cobra Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 The new trains look nice and were certainly needed. How many of you were victimized by Headspin at Geauga? Quote
RailRider Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Who hasn't been victimized by a Vekoma Boomer??? I think that is the better question. Quote
teenageninja Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Headspin was worse than the other two boomerangs I had ridden. Hopefully the new trains stop that. Quote
Captain Nemo Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Who hasn't been victimized by a Vekoma Boomer??? I think that is the better question. I have not been, I guess that is a good thing. I must say that the new train designs are nicely designed. Quote
Gordon Bombay Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 . How many of you were victimized by Headspin at Geauga? I still can't sleep well at night. . .ever since tat trip in 2005. I gotta admit though I do like the name and like how they tied it in with being in Carolina, yeah it may be a lot of hype for a lackluster ride, but I bet Carowinds will get bigger and better things as time comes! Anyone else notice that Carolina Cobra, Diamondback, and Prowler all have somewhat of a same website format? Quote
markalan Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Of course they all have somewhat the same format, they're all done by the same person, or group of people. They all look nice too! Quote
RailRider Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Speaking of websites looking the same, I was hoping that HH would get the CF versions like CP and KBF... Quote
DropZone99 Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Who hasn't been victimized by a Vekoma Boomer??? I think that is the better question. I haven't well unless you count Deja' Vu or Invertigo... Quote
pkiboy Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Ive never been to Carowinds. I may have to swing down there next year but I was victimized at Geauga Lake. Quote
DropZone99 Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Ive never been to Carowinds. I may have to swing down there next year but I was victimized at Geauga Lake. You should take me! I really want to go to Carowinds. Quote
PKIVortex Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Carowinds the home of the most Carolina named coasters. lol. Quote
Beast1979 Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 I, thank god, passed up Head Spin while I was at GL for a ride on Big Dipper and my 6th ride on Dominator. Now that it's gone forever I am very glad I decided to do what I did. Who hasn't been victimized by a Vekoma Boomer??? I think that is the better question. I haven't well unless you count Deja' Vu or Invertigo... Invertigo is actually shockingly smooth, and I think it's a blast! So no, the Boomerang plauge has not hit me. Quote
Guest rcfreak339 Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 I also noticed on the sites that the coaster has a facebook and myspace pages...The Prowler even has myspace layouts you can use. I really think Diamondback should get one. Quote

Beast1979 Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 *Makes Fart/Flunk Noise* Well, it's ok if you add a clone, but a recycled clone which is one of 60+? I wouldn't be excited. Quote
oldfuzzster Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 I'm not excited either to see a ride that is recycled yet presented as new-guess they figure them dumb southern's won't know the difference Quote
Gordon Bombay Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 I'm not excited either to see a ride that is recycled yet presented as new-guess they figure them dumb southern's won't know the difference A lot of people said the same thing about us dumb Ohioans and Firehawk, which turned out to be a pretty popular ride. This may be a recycled ride, but Carowinds and Cedar Fair have proven that they're committed to it being a success, the new trains seem like a great move and I'm interested to see if they improve a typically lackluster ride. I think with the current addition being built at Kings Island for 2009, the announcement of the GCI coaster at Great America, the move of Dominator to Kings Dominion, the relocation of Firehawk, and so forth, Cedar Fair has shown that even if a ride is recycled they're definitely going to take care of their new parks. RailRider Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 Im not a fan of boomers but I think the fill a void for parks. Small footprint, inversions, and a uniques experience. There are a lot of younger guests that wont ride something like Vortex but are more apt to ride a boomer. Plus I dont think anyone should ever complain when a park gets a coaster, even a lack luster used ride. After all CF could have sold the ride as is and it would have cost them less money. Instead they moved it and bought new trains for it. It is an improvement no matter how you look at it. Quote
