Cory Butcher
Footprints would be neat. Remember Jeff Gramke said at KIC day that, "The Beast sells itself" read: low key

Jasper
I would love to see the footprints come back i vaguely remember them back in 1996 when i was like 5. I remember they were white and i was so amazed when i followed them all the way back to The Beast.
Vortex
Guess this explains why the wood on top was taken down. I wonder if they will just keep the old west look or take that down also.

Gordon Bombay
I love how over the past few weeks they have removed things like the fence above the "entrance" sign and that bad home made entrance sign they put up. Looks like someone just spray painted it and nailed it up there Beast is over due for a make over!
sheikra_rocks
I was there when FOF was brand new. They had the footprints then.. I remember like it was yesterday. My cousin and I were giong to go ride it for a second time but in the front, and it broke down before we got to the entrance, and remember seeing the footprints. They also has KKC next door. What's funny about it, is when I moved here in July of 2005 I asked an employee "Where is the big log flume that was in this area?" She pointed to Thornberry's. I said "no, what I am thinking of winds through the trees high up then drops, and it has a rotating platform." She said, "you mean WWC?" I said "I didn't ride that the last time I was here." She had no idea what I was talking about! But anyway, they need to bring back some reminders of great things of the past, and the footprints would be a start. CoasterXtreme
Does any one have a photo of the old entrance. I can not recall in my old age where or what it looked like, However I do remember the old exit. The old exit dumped you out on the midway to the right of the coaster, which they have now blocked off. CoasterXtreme

I don't ever recall going to ride The Beast, and it being closed because of a mechanical malfunction or whatever the case may be. Too bad I can't say the same for Delirium. I'd like to see the ride statistics for both of the aforementioned rides to see what it says about downtime, etc.. I would bet The Beast has one of the best stats for low downtime. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!
The Interpreter
I admit I have been to Kings Island a lot, but there have been occasions that Beast has been down....rare, but it does happen. Certainly, Son of Beast has a far less reliable record overall....
kiruler102
this is my opinion. but wouldnt it be cool to enter the main gate to Kings Island and all of a sudden you see small little fangs, or a snake mouth which leads to Diamondback. my opinion. CoasterXtreme
Just that brings a flood of memories back.....When The Beast opened I was 5 years old and it was my first coaster that gave me the bug! It has been all downhill from there (no pun intend).
The Interpreter
Sigh...here we go AGAIN! When The Beast opened, I was older than the majority of the posters on this board are today. In fact, I'd been out of undergraduate school for several years. And you wonder why I feel ancient?
CoastersRZ
For those of you who do not know, the exit to The Beast used to be along the path that had the fencing this past season. Right after you crossed under the the tracks for The Beast, you used to turn left instead of going right. The door that says "Authorized Personnel" now, is where the exit used to go. When at the top of the ramp up to the station, if you look out you can see an old bridge that connects with the path (the same one that was used for us to go on the behind the scenes tour of The Beast at KIC day). That was the old exit of the ride until the early to mid 90`s.

jcgoble3
MEGA-BUMP! Found this thread while searching for something else, and it got me thinking. Since I didn't start going to KI as an adult until 2010 and have few memories of my visits as a kid in the mid-90s, I'm curious what the difference between The Beast's entrance and exit is between 2008 and 2013. In other words, what exactly changed to accommodate Diamondback? Pictures of the 2008 version would be appreciated; there's one above, but I'm not seeing much of a difference between it and the current setup other than the removal of the drink machines on the right.
