indianapolisman
Well let's see 9 visits this year. At 194 miles one way, that's 3,492 miles traveled, and 36 hours spent traveling. Was it worth it? Yes, every minute. Ok IBEW was completely correct. 125 miles so thats 2,250 miles. Added another trip since then, and another 250 miles, plus 4 hours driving. Wow no wonder I'm so confused.
tigellinus
^^WOW!!! Looking at those stats makes me think about what my stats would be for the # of times I drove between Cincy and Indy when I lived in Cincy!?! I don't wanna do the math to be honest! However, 194 miles??? Isn't 465 to 275 only like 100-ish miles??
CedarPointer
Only once. Ever. (unfortunately)
The Interpreter
You can fix that. Once upon a time, a long time ago, I had only been to Cedar Point once. And once upon a time, a long time ago, I had only been to Great Adventure once. And once upon a time, a long time ago, I had only been to Disney once, and then only to Florida. No reason to stop your visits to Kings Island at only one! Enjoy! That's the ......point!
gnarkiller
I've only went twice so far... That will change after Fall Freakout though.
gigacoaster2k
I'm considering going to KI every day of every weekend until the park closes for the season.. hey, why not? Sadly, I won't be able to make it to CP again this year.. but I crammed in so much on my last trip this past weekend that I am honestly just glad I was able to go. My ride count was unreal, I met some really cool new people, did things I've never done before, and I took every trip tip that was given to me so that I could make the most out of everything. The Interpreter
Well, for some of us, saying goodbye to perhaps the best dark ride left in a US seasonal theme park may interfere with going to Mason on the last weekend. . .
IBEW_Sparky
In reply to the distance.... from just west of the Indianapolis International Airport, it is 125 miles to the Western Row Rd exit by following the most direct route (I465S to I74E to I275E to I275N to I71N to WR Rd). tigellinus
^^Yeah, so I'm not sure about that 194 miles calcy from Indy!! Even at 125 miles, the Indy airport is 10-20 miles further than anyone traveling from the Fishers area.
adventure2007
Well considering that last year I had over 70 visits to the park I am slacking this year lol. I have attended the park only 50 times so far this year but I will be finishing out the season with my normal weekend visits. I guess I have a coaster addiction. lol

If I had expected KI to be such a good park, I would have spent one less day at CP and one more at KI.

XGatorHead 8904
^Ah, thanks. I should have though of that. But shouldn't that be SFOG and SFGAdv, considering two of his favorite coasters are at SFGAdv?
tigellinus
^^Well, usually I abbreviate Great Adventure as GAdv, BUT...then someone in another thread referred to Great America as SFGA and Terpy told them SFGA=Great Adventure, and SFGAm=Great America. Btw...I think maybe Terpy could be referring to SFOG Monster Mansion, which is undergoing some significant renovations in the offseason (per Screamscape). XGatorHead 8904
Oh yeah, I remember that post. Too many SFGA-type initials to keep straight. Based on those parks, my best guess was Monster Plantation / soon to be Monster Mansion too.
The Interpreter
Yes...SFOG's Monster Plantation. And Six Flags itself calls SFGAd SFGA, as did a late friend of mine (and expert on all things Great Adventure). I, myself, always refer to either SFGAd or SFGAm...to make things simpler for the easily confused (like me!)
italianchef
I made it to Kings Island a record 26 times this year, and I plan at least 2, if not 3, more visits before the park closes this year.
Jasper
Wow i did not know that Terpy ill have to check that out thank you. Jeez i am looking back on all my trips and realizing that the summer was my last summer as a kid as i will be 18 and in college next year. Enough of my sorrows back to the topic at hand. Keep on riding, Jasper! You may be the only person who understands my love for a certain free fall ride! Very well said. Call it n obsession if you will. Yes what I meant to say was it's only 194 miles both there and back so cut the miles in half, but 32 hours driving was about right. Thanks tigellinus. Colonel_SoB_fan
I really do not know for sure but estimate 11-15 and Jasper dont worry EKU lets out real early in the "summer"
BavarianBeatle
When they use the little hand held things to scan your pass, it apparently doesn't add to the count that shows up on the screen when you go through the line.... o our count would be 38 at KI, 4 at CP and one each at Holiday World and Strickers Grove...... coasterking912
19 times, so sad, if only gas were $2.45 during the summer, then I would have hit 30 again.
Beast1979
Well I regained count and I will end the season today with a record 20 times this year.
