Recommended Posts

Wow...But yeh could you imagine, seeing the CONCEPTS to PKI under paramount years, and to NICK U under PKI years...Concepts look awseome:

but it comes down to the all mighty money! and what they can do to keep the fans happy at the lowest price,,,,

to make PROFIT$$$$$$$$$$

But concepts do they ever come out so exact????

I mean they hyped tomb raider,,,like it was the next big dark ride,, we got something similar to a top spin:::

Thanks for that Terpy. I always love hearing of concepts that were, for whatever reason, not realized. One of the extras on The Little Mermaid dvd is a POV animation of a proposed Little Mermaid ride, which took you through the various scenes of the movie. My daughter loves watching this and pretending she's on a ride.

Back in '93 or '94 I had a class with a family member of a PKI executive who told me about plans for a new ride. Being a big fan of the Paramount property it was based on, I was truly psyched for it. When the ride was finally officially announced, the concept was something else entirely. Years later, I saw the concept drawings for the original idea. It would have been nice but I can see why they changed it, and I'm very happy with the way it eventually turned out.

Some here would find this of interest and might otherwise not see this:

Jim Hill knows whereof he speaks...

Jill Hill does not know anything he just takes stories and things from other blogs all the time. Go on a Disney site its like a four letter world saying Jill Hill.

They're planning to build that Little Mermaid ride as we speak, though not in Disneyland.

It's part of their billion-dollar makeover for California's Adventure. Other attractions include an area devoted entirely to the recent Pixar flick Cars (with an E-Ticket attraction featuring a version of Epcot's Test Track, but with two cars racing side-by-side), a completely redone entrance to the park (that postcard entrance is replaced with a 1920s Los Angeles), and a completely redone Paradise Pier (which would look more like what Luna Park used to look like way back when).

I had read a rumor of it possibly going into AK as well, but haven't seen confirmation of that yet.
