Phantom Theater

Phantom Theater was one of those rides were I found myself riding it at least once everytime I came to the park. Although I didn't find it scary, it just had the lure to it.

My favorite memory is the sewer or storm water drain right in front of the door to get in. It had a speaker down in it with a growling noise. :D It was wonderful watching little kids in frount of me freak out when they heard it.

It was more than a bunch of robots, those robots had sprit. I will miss it greatly. :(

Well, I'm sorry I closed that thread, but it wasn't going to lead to anything. I try to keep the "productive" threads open, and close or delete the ones that I do not believe are very significant, so I do not waste bandwidth (bandwidth = $$). May I remind that no one should take a closure of a topic personal, I (or a moderator) will simply close a topic if it gets out of hand, or is not very productive, and DO NOT close a topic because I "may not like someone". Everyone is here to state their opinion, and I respect that... just please don't take anything I do personally, and if you have a problem with me, please just send me a POLITE email or PM. Any rude or immature remarks will be ignored. Remember, all the money that I have to pay to keep PKIU is coming out of my own pocket, and if you have a problem with the way I run the site, then I'm sorry. Running a website like PKIU isn't very cheep, and I do whatever I can so I may keep the cost down without having to resort to *shudder* ad banners and popups.

Back to Phantom Theatre... PKI has already sank big money into the removal of the ride, and PT's replacement, Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle. Just because a few "enthusiasts" think that PKI should bring back PT and call off their plans, doesn't mean anything. They are wasting their time if they think that a petition will do anything. PKI does what the PUBLIC wants not what the ENTHUSIAST wants. May I remind you that enthusiasts make up about 5% of the park's attendence, not very significant.

The plans have been made, it's sad that Phantom Theatre is going, but people have to get over themselves and realize that it's JUST A RIDE.

Inraider -

You are very hypocritical...You like to state your opinions, but you get all huffy when someone else states their (differing) opinion...Just remember everyone has a right to post their opinions and since this is Aaron's site/responsibility...he has veto power over anything and everything involved here...whether we agree with it or not.

Change is good though...and you should agree...because if things didn't change there would have never even been a Phantom Theater. It would still be the Hanna Barbera Enchanted Voyage. (Which I miss) But I also enjoyed the Phantom Theater...just like I am looking forward to the new Scooby Doo ride. 10 years was a good run.

PT was a good Dark Ride for what it was worth. I have to agree, it had that lure to for you to ride it. But 10 years is a good run, it had it's fun and it's gone. One thing I'm glad that they're keeping in Scooby is that spooky atmosphere that came with PT. Scooby should be interesting to check out.....

I will miss "the Centurion" tremendously. PT was one of those rides that was SO lame you had to LOVE it. I remember the Smurf ride and thought PT was an improvement. You're right, the little kids didn't appreciate it....however I put mine on as soon as they were big enough to ride and PT had become, as someone stated, tradition!

I will always remember Phantom Theatre, alot of memories from that place (keep perverted thoughts to yourself please) and how great of a ride it was. An example of pre-Paramount PKI goodness ::drools::. However, I believe Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle will be a VERY large improvement and will gain everyone's liking. Hopefully it will have the magic that of Phantom Theatre.

I do not remember the storm water drain in front, for whatever reason I can't seem to remember that, does anybody have a video of that, because I need to trigger my memory.
