kings_island~thrill is me! Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 What type of ride(if there is one) do you think will be at KI new for 2010 Quote
kjkjkj Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Well before we discuss this, we should at least enjoy Diamondback first! Anyways, I would guess a family ride, or a small thrill ride. Maybe something on the Coney Mall Midway. Quote
Coney Islander Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I think they will add a flat from Geauga Lake. Probably a smaller one that children can ride below 48 inches. Quote
kings_island~thrill is me! Posted January 27, 2009 Author Posted January 27, 2009 Were do you think would or could put it Quote
Phantom Theater Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I REALLY hope that they put in a Ferris Wheel in Flight Commanders old spot.I just think itd be cool to be on the ferris wheel, watchin The Racer go by. 1 Quote
tigellinus Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 And as has also been discussed here before, the industry as we know it today is no longer a "build it, and they will come" environment. It's more about attracting families and being economically sensible. That's not to say Diamondback-esque rides won't be built anymore, but the big ride thrill cycle is more like 6-7 years now as opposed to 2-3 years. Another major economic spurt like in the late 90's and early/mid 2000's could change things...but just look to DC to see where things are going in terms of economic growth. All that said, I definitely could see a big flat or something else fairly significant in 2012, but nothing for sure in 2010 and likely nothing in 2011 expect for the addition of more or new restuarants and shows and things like that. Captain Picard Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I can see a ride transplant coming if there will be anything. This will come from a park they sell if they can find anyone to buy it. The significant thing in 2012 could be bankruptcy if they can't roll over the debt. Quote
The Interpreter Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I highly doubt Cedar Fair goes bankrupt at any time in the foreseeable future. I can, however, see it being sold. Quote

Cory Butcher Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I hope we get a B&M Inverted hyper coaster that sets the record for inversions and utilizes the terrain around Son of Beast. (I can dream right?) In all seriousness though, Diamondback is enough for me! I would like a big boy invert one of these days however! 1 Quote
IndyGuy4KI Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I would also say a small family ride. 2 big coasters in 3 years, even though Firehawk was brought from another park. Quote
The Interpreter Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Really? So what did Cedar Point get for this year, ride-wise? Well? Quote
The Interpreter Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 How would you like to market that to families and thrill seekers? Quote
JAHill Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I will never understand in my lifetime how people can jump from one year to the next so quickly! Diamondback isn't even fully completed yet guys! 1 Quote
kings_island~thrill is me! Posted January 27, 2009 Author Posted January 27, 2009 a re-tracked mean streak? A re-tracked of Mean streak I doubt it.Were would they put it Quote

BavarianBeatle Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 The park industry needs a multi billion dollar government bailout... LOL!!! Quote
The Interpreter Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 With all due respect, I think not. Can you imagine the restrictions and provisions the Government would impose? They'd want veto authority over each planned new attraction, rules on setting food, merchandise and games pricing and the parks' schedules, etc. I can only imagine. Quote
raptor Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 I think it is highly unlikely that they will have a new ride the year after building a 20 million dollar plus ride. Quote
