teenageninja
Thanks Shaggy. Where are those stairs on Scooby do you know? Appearently we now know how the floor on Delerium works. I thought it would be a floor that covered the whole bottom area. Oh well thanks for pointing that out to us I love how PKI is taking care of the enthusiasts this season. Shaggy
When you enter the area of "Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle" you will first see a gated entrance with the ride sign overhead. This entrance is farthur to the left that the former Phantom Theatre entrance gate. You will cross the bridge, then go down that curving staircase and then enter the building where the queue line will reside. The midway in front of Phantom Theatre/Scooby is higher than the level at which you enter the queue building. For PT, you walked a short path that gradually descended down to the building entrance. For Scooby you will walk down that curving staircase. There is no longer an oustide path like Phantom Theatre. Shaggy
Aaron
Thanks Shags! Man, Scooby Doo is really going to be one great ride! I wasn't really thinking much about Scooby when first announced, but now, I think I am looking more forward to it than Delirium!
teenageninja
KI has really put some money into their theming department. Obviously there is going to be something special in the first room if they are going through all this trouble to keep it dark.
Return_of_Yogi
At First I wasn't to thrilled at the idea of switching characters this summer, but if i make it...... I sure will like being a dog wit this cool of a ride! -Ill make it has been forseen.
aero11
Man could they have put that building any closer to that Delirium footer. By the way what is that building going to be used for?
teenageninja
It's probably some sort of control room or theming, I don't know.
fyrfyter
I think you are right about that being a control room, and if you think about it, its good reasoning to put it close to the ride, for probably several reasons. First off, when the ride ops go to unload the ride, if the building is cl,ose, they won;t have to walk as far. if they had to walk further, it would probably slow down the capacity of the ride, and I'm sure PKI wants to keep the capacity on that ride as high as possible. Secondly, it also means they don't have to run hundreds of extra feet of cable. If the control room is close to the ride, hen all they have to do is run the controlling cables to the base and into the room, thus saving some money, and the pain of running additional wires. I am thinking to, that Delirium, is very large, and the pictures that have been posted, don't do it justice. It wouldn't surprise me if its sheer size, took up most of the footprint that KC used to occupy, which would mean, that control room would have to be close to the ride. Shaggy
It takes up about half the footprint of King Cobra. The building you see is not only the operators booth, but also is a queue house of sorts. The line will have a normal queue outdoors, but just before reaching the ride load area, the queue line will go through this building. The que enters under the swing on the side nearest to Festhaus, It then heads right towards the Sling Shot. There will be wrap-around queues in the space between the Sling Shot and the ride itself. As I said a second ago, the line then wraps through the house and up to the load platform. Shaggy
Coasterfan
Ya it's probably a control room. That's gonna be cool walking to AZ and seeing Delirium running!
Dane
QUICK LINK TO THE DELERIUM PICTURES
fyrfyter
Man, I hope that the otudoor queue is covered at least somewhat, like TR:TR's queue to help shade you from the sun. The other thought is, I don't really want to get yacked on by anyone on Delirium who gets a little ill on this ride. Hope they have thought of everything, and we aren't baking in the sun, or whatever else may come.
PKICoasterFreek
Ho kidding fyrfyter, if there isn't already some protect from flying"object" the better think about it! I don't think people are going to enjoy boiling out in the hot sun in the middle if July or August or being hit by any falling object or materials! Just a thought!! But I hope the considered that! PKI Rocks!!!!!!!
teenageninja
I'm sure it will be covered. I hope that que house doesn't stay that color because it's a very boring color.
EnterTheVortex
I rode a sort of mini delerium at my state fair, except the seats were inside and i have to say that it was so much fun, and i am so pumped for delerium because it is like a super one of the ride that i rode. Go Pacers!
Beastfreak
No the queue house will not stay that ugly black, that is like tar paper waterproofing crap and siding or whatnot will be put up over it. Maybe brick or something, I'm sure they'll do a nice job with it. Heck it may even turn out blue/yellow/red like the ride and everything else in Action Zone. Coasterfan
I'm sure they will paint them yellow and red and maybe blue just like the rest of AZ.
teenageninja
Good. I would hate to see that plain black building. Hopefully it will have some Drop Zone theming (crazy signs and such.)
bingog34
What would be really cool is if the queue was like a building that was ripped up by a tornado (broken bricks, ripped and dirty furniture, rubble...).
Dane
The black is insuluation.
fyrfyter
Actually, the black around the outside of the building is sheathing. usually they use this type of fiber board, or plywood to sheath houses. This type of fiber, is cheaper than plywood, but holds up just as well, and walls can be factory built with the stuff attached, and then shipped to the site for faster building, rather than constructing each wall on site. The thing should still get some type of Tyvek wrap as a moisture barrier, unless it is already on, and then the insulation will go on the inside between the studs, before they put up drywall or whatever on the inside. PKICoasterFreek
I hope if they theme the building, I hope they make it to be themed as tornados like on the Delirium logo. Or when the ride get the highest point, an air raid sirine goes off ( I know it's kind of stupid but, hey it goes with the themeing!). O well just an Idea! LOL
teenageninja
I think that would be kind of cool. Maybe a big red police beacon that goes around when it goes at full swing.
Coasterfan
Ya tornado theming would be cool.
PKICoasterFreek
the becon woulkd be a cool idea, and not as annoying!!!l lol
Coasterfan
There's tons of stuff they could with tornado theming. They could even havevideos of tornados on the tvs at Delirium.
fyrfyter
I think the tornados on TV would probably freak people out, and might keep soem people from riding it, even though Cincinnati seems to be un lucky with its fair share of tornadoes.
Coasterfan
Ya it would freak some people out. But just the thought of the ride itself freaks some people out too.
teenageninja
I think having that house with some tables and lawn chairs thrown around would be very cool for theming, especially for a ride that really doesn't need to be themed.
