Mr. Coastermania
With Dback opening up this year a new thrill awaits us. With this in mind how many trips does everyone plan to take this year? I hope to make 10 trips this year as well as my trips to Cedar Point.Hurry up spring.
jovigirl33
I wish I could make 10 trips! I'm probably going to make the usual 3 trips. Money is tight this year. I've yet to make it to Cedar Point. I want to go sooooooo bad!
LongLiveTheSmurfRide
I'm hoping to make 20 or more. I can see myself showing up early on some days just for some DB ERT and leaving when the line gets too long. Last year I didn't have a pass so I just went twice, but this year I'm going all out. violakat03
Easily 20 or more. This year I'm going to stop being afraid of going by myself and just go whenever I feel like it. I went 13 times last year, mostly during Haunt, and regretted not going more often earlier in the season.
Thrill_Biscuit
I will probably make about 8 trips throughout the season. My record was 14 in 2004 (10 to PKI, 4 to BB).
XGatorHead 8904
I went 16 times last year, and it'll probably be somewhere around the same this year.
flightoffear1996
Im going to shoot for 2 a week but I know I will make it at least once a week. last year I had about 20 which is lacking for me due to gas prices and driving a SUV. My record visits was 36.
Ogrmac
I managed to make it 13 times last year, and I hope to make at least that many this year!
tigellinus
Yeah, gas prices will have bearing for sure if my trip total was to exceed anything more than 3-ish times per month.
clbehymer
I bought my platinum pass again this year and I added a gold KI pass for my son... so hopefully there will be a lot more trips to KI this year. You guys can see my little coaster enthusiast in the making right next to me. Well I guess he's not that little since he's about 5 inches taller than me! TopThrill
Last year I went 15 times, this year might break 20 or more. With the free parking with our gold pass, we saved 150 dollars.
74Gibson
It's a 4 hr drive for me so I'm shooting for 3. I've also got some trips to CP planned but that's not much shorter of a drive.
auge.dog
2 years ago, I took the family one time - it was the first time I had been to KI in about 16-18 years. Last year, we doubled that number. Now that my daughter is over 54" and my son is over 48", we bought gold passes for everyone. So, I'm hoping we at least double last year's total. We're lucky as it's only 40 minutes away . BoddaH1994
Just under 50 visits last year. I needed a life.
Go Browns
At least once but maybe more seeing as my future in laws live in West Chester.
gigacoaster2k
I managed to make it 13 times last year, and I hope to make at least that many this year! Same here, 13 visits last year.. I also went to CP 7 times. I went to KI opening day and CP closing day (I went to closing day after about 8 of my friends from up north insisted I go so we could ride together one last time before the season ended). It's hard telling how many times I will go this year. I have a few other parks I want to visit too.
flightoffear1996
I amke it to Cedar Point & KI every year. This topic brings up a good little off season question. Would rather live 15 minutes from one park and 2-3 hours from 2-3 different parks?
74Gibson
^ The wording came out a little bit weird but I think I know what your asking. I would rather live 15 mins from one park than 2-3 hrs from several. I live about 3 from CP ( I found a short cut last trip of last yr) and 4 fromm KI. A trip to either is a very full day! To hit morning ERT @ 9:00 I'm leaving at 5 or 6 and I usually don;t get home till 2 or 3 AM.
gigacoaster2k
IMO I could care less how far away I live. If the park is worth it to me, I will make the trip (if it's feasible). 74Gibson, for some reason my friend likes to jump off 75 in Findlay and take 224 off to several obscure little state routes to go to CP.. what's your shortcut? I find it so easy to take 75 to exit 179 outside of Bowling Green, and pretty much follow Route 6 all the way to the CP causeway.
Rollercoast19
Last year I had almost 20 visits which is pretty good for me. I don't know how many trips I will take this year since the person I usually go with, my brother, is getting married. So it looks like a lot of solo trips this year. I would live 15 minutes from one park than 2-3 hours from several parks.
Diamondback FOF
I am hoping to make around 12 to 15 trips this year with my family
derek9312
I had 34 visits as seen in my signature. This year I dont see any reason why it should be different I hope to have as much or even more visits this season than I did in 2008. April 18th just cant come soon enough
G-Force
I got around 25 last season, and I'm hoping to hit at least 35 this season!

It's like I'd be going north on 75 for so long that when I'd see that Findlay exit I'd be like, "Yes! Let's finally head west!" Little did I know that though it was nice to head in a different direction and get off the highway; I was making the trip last longer. My first few trips up to the Point I used to take route 4 all the way from Dayton. Ugh, what a horribly long and boring trip.
markhudson17
I'm going at least 10 times. Hopefully everything works out right because that could easily jump to 20 or 30.

gigacoaster2k
I go 75 to 224 as well. Is there a shorter way? I just take 75 up to Route 6 east (exit 179) and follow Route 6 all the way to the CP causeway. Google Maps says it's a 4 hour drive.. I make it in 3.. one day I even made it in 2.5. /lead foot

I used to go the Findlay route because that's what was told to me as being the shortest route (in the pre-Mapquest days). Then when Mapquest came out, it said this was ths shortest route as well. Then I started using google maps when some friends and I were leaving from KI, and it had us going up 71 with just a few minutes difference in drive time. Even though my house is one exit south of KI, I got two different interstates depending on the short distance between start points. Now I'm checking both mapquest and google maps from my house, it has me getting off at exit 179, and not Findlay. There's only a few minutes difference anyway I go, so it doesn't really matter... flightoffear1996
I always take route 6 to get to Cedar Point. My first trip to the point mapquest told me to go into bowling green. I was like WTF. I figured it out after about 10 minutes or so of looking at the map.
