I wonder why they havent put Spongebob in 3D on the new site yet? i mean i know they havent annouced it yet but i kinda was thinkin they would put it on the site then annouce it kinda like they did with Delirium how they send a flyer to the gold passholders ohmy.gifblink.gifhuh.gifunsure.gif

Maybe they thought that SBSP wasn't all that important to post as of yet. For the associates, look at the Tim Letter. It's in there...

I LOVE THE new PKI site i love the HUGE logo on for Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle!i sure Spongebob in 3d will be on there sooner or later! when does actionfx theater open any way! smile.gif

I believe that would be the Craig letter. biggrin.gif

The 3D action theatre stuff is usually never open on opening day thus why advertise it with Delirium and Scooby. Advertising them all at the same time will make people think that it will be open come opening day and then get upset when it isn't. Don't expect to see anything Spongebob related mentioned by the park until after April 12th rolls around.

Craig Ross is now the General Manager of PKI, Tim Fisher left PKI during the 2002 season to become General Manager of PGA.

Those pics of Delirium are insane!i wanna ride it more and more!!! i wonder if i will be able to see Delirium from the highway? C'mon PKI i wanna see some Scooby Doo and the Haunted castle Pics !!! blink.gifsmile.gif

Yeah, you can see Delirium from the highway. I've passed by a few times at night and you can see right were it is. They have some of the lights on but its not very bright, from the highway at least. I'm sure once they are all done and turn all the lights on and have it swinging you will be able to see it from anywhere nearby.

You can? Man thats gonna rule being able to see it from the highway! i hope the lights are Bright at night...how many people are allowed to get on it at a time????? huh.gifblink.gif

52 can get on it at once. The capacity is lower than TR:TRs, but a lot of people will be freaked out by it.

Thats good. freaked out people means more room for the rest of us to ride, and hpefully shorter lines. I think some of the lines in AZ are the worst, particularly Face/Off and Drop Zone..

52 can get on it at once.

Well PKI.com says that it will be 50...it says "50 outward facing suspended seats" But... that could be an understatement.....

Have you watched any of the movies of it? It doesn't really spin to fast about 1 spin for every full swing. I think that is a good speed and hopefully shouldn't make anyone sick.

Ok, here is my math:

Say you have 50 people on the ring, and each seat is approximately 2 ft wide (give or take some, just a guess). So 50x2ft=100ft. Thats 100ft all the way around the ring.

Now, it makes 8 revolutions per minutes. So 8/min*100ft=800ft/min is the total distance traveled if the ring were vertical and allowed to roll.

now take that and transfer it into mph.

800ft/min*1mile/5280ft*60min/hr=9.09mph, not very fast in my opinion.

sure, but the diameter of the circle is what could make it seem so bad. your radius would be 100/2pi, or approximately 15.9 feet. a tight radius will make you dizzy and hurl no matter if you're going 9 mph or 20. I don't think speed is as much the factor here as is the radius. If that makes sense. Think about how fast you can be moving if you're spinning in circles, just twirling, you know? not that fast, right? but since the radius is so tight, it makes you feel sick to your stomach. thats my point.

I don't know why you devided by 2pi, but when I did it I got approximately 39 feet.

Yes it does equal out to 1 swing every 7.5 seconds. But time it on your watch. It's not really that fast. It's definatly not going to make anybody sick unless they get sick really easy, and if they do and ride it anyway, well, then that's their own stupid fault.

c=pi*d, and

d=2r, so

c=2pi*r, therefore

100=2pi*r, and finally

100/2pi=r, and using 3.14 as pi,

100/6.28=15.9, or

r=15.9

I think when you start using math to computate the puke factor on a ride...............Someone has way too much time on their hands. Give it a month, and I am sure we will all find out, just what the puke factor is. It can't be too high, because if it makes everyone that gets on it sick, then no one will ever want to ride it. I am sure the engineers thought of this when designing it. if it does a rotation though every 7.5 secs, I am thinking that is more like 2 or 3 full swings, not just one. Remember its a pendulum, and will fall with the speed of gravity, unless the motor at the top affects it in the downswing.

Naturally it can only use gravity to a certain extent, the motor has to be engaged at all times so there is some friction on the downfall. And as far as me having too much time on my hands... all those formulas are memorized, and I spent less then two minutes each on both of those posts. Probably less then that. I spend way more time on the messageboard about my car then I do here. Much more pertinant information.

I'm an engineering major with a math minor, of course I was going to be the one starting the with all the fun math. I could have some fun getting into figuring the g-force and speed at any point on the ride if I just play with some integrals here and there.

God I'm a loser.

Dude, if your a loser, than Im a geek. Im double majoring in Physics and Mechanical Engineering PLUS minoring in Computer Programming.
