Guest TombraiderTy
So Season Pass Processing has been going on for some time now. I went today, took a few pictures of course. Enjoy. I apologize for the lower quality and blurry pics. I will blame the cold and pretend I'm actually a decent photographer Ticket booths and Kings Island Theater. First of the new International Restaurant signs, awesome logos and designs for this one. I love the snake-like background. Gold Pass? I'm a Platnium Pass! (Canada's Wonderland in June) Overview. It looks nice. Yeah, blurry pic... The fountains had water in them though. Taken from open-to-public area. New sign for the food-stand beneath Eiffel Tower. It looks very nice and is quite large- easily find-able by park guests. Vending machines missing. Gone for good or will we see them returned by Saturday? What Season Pass Processing PTR wouldn't be complete without a shot of Invertigo? This area will be filled with people on Saturday. Oh yeah, right, what I was here for... The employee who processed our passes was friendly and took our photos quickly. Afterwards, we left the park and headed out for dinner- Skyline! So, um, Chili Cheese Fries. Actually quite good, even if the picture gives them a bad appearance. Comments on photos welcome, even if they're only saying how bad they are
coasterguy15
I think that it is one of the greatest PTR's ever posted! (I love chili cheese fries and that picture just makes me want some)
iChase
Actually, the fries in the picture look quite good to me. It just reminded me that I'm hungry. I bet the drink machines will return. Can't let them sit out in the winter weather.

Avatar
Nice precursor report to the 2009 season. Thanks Ty
DropZone99
I wander what the front of the park map will look like... Nice PTR, I love the new signs on the entrance! And I also love Tower Drinks sign!
gigacoaster2k
Actually, the fries in the picture look quite good to me. It just reminded me that I'm hungry. I know right? I saw them and my stomach growled. When Kat and I went to get our passes April 1, the entrance still had last year's Haunt signs up, and the scroller board (can't remember the term for it right now) was still scrolling the rides that were closed for Haunt last year. Guest TombraiderTy
^The scrolling signs still had November 2, 2008's message. At first I was like "Scramber, Congo Falls, WWC, Action Theater closed today... huh?"
standbyme
Ty, A fun trip report...and the pictures are good too! I really like this shot: This is a very good/unique angle. Have a good time on opening day!
Avatar
Ty you should try to get the same picture shot on Saturday as the one Standbyme pointed out. I think it would be cool to see the difference a few days make.
The Interpreter
And I am very glad the hideous bright yellow is gone. For a while, the entrance plaza looked like Kentucky Kingdom's. And that is not a good thing.

The Interpreter
As paperg asked, Saturday's weather forecast from the NWS as of now: Saturday Mostly sunny. Highs in the lower 70s.
IndyGuy4KI
And I am very glad the hideous bright yellow is gone. For a while, the entrance plaza looked like Kentucky Kingdom's. And that is not a good thing. I agree, the new blue signs are very nice!! Thanks for the Pics!

And that is not a good thing. Sorry you didn't like the yellow, Terpy! My boss and I had some input into what color to paint the buildings outside the gate that year. It needed an update from that ugly cream color with industrial blue and maroon trim. We wanted something to brighten up the area, and what better color to do that with than yellow! And we thought it looked good with the bright blue (or Paramount blue) trim, much better than what was out there before. To compare anything I had a part in to anything done by Kentucky Kingdom just hurts! (just kiddin' with ya!)
The Interpreter
What was so unfortunate about it is that it looked perzactly like Kentucky Kingdom's gate, minus the lurid purple, of course.

Have a good time on opening day! Thanks for the comment. That photo is probably my favorite of the few I took, it's a unique angle. Ty you should try to get the same picture shot on Saturday as the one Standbyme pointed out. I think it would be cool to see the difference a few days make. That would be a cool shot. However, with people directly in front of you, they tend to think you're taking a photo of them, which can be a bit awkward... Great, Ty! I like this!
