What coaster would you like to see Kings Island get?

...I'd like to see a record-breaking coaster at KI...

You'd like to see a record-breaking coaster at KI? Go look at Beast, or Son of Beast. Now you've seen two...Look at Vortex...make it three! :) And there are more...

Terpy, who long ago learned that some of the most fun coasters he's ever ridden are mid-size to small coasters that are not all that fast, not all that tall, not all that expensive, but just plain fun (See, for example, The Georgia Cyclone, Cornball Express, Cyclops, Avalanche, etc.)

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I meant a new record-breaking coaster.

The Beast has lasted as long as it has and as well as it has due to the incredible efforts of Kings Island's fantastic wood coaster maintenance crew over the years. Proof? Compare Gwazi at Busch Gardens Tampa...a GCII, but maintained by a company that has no other wooden coaster...they maintain everything else they own incredibly well...but either the Florida weather adversely affects that ride or Busch's relative inexperience in maintaining wood coasters shows...or both...

Kings Island has always done an incredible job of maintaining their wooden coasters...as have Kennywood and Holiday World...

With Prowler opening this year and that darned ride they've been trying to start at CGA, I can see a GCII at more Cedar Fair parks. However, with Kings Island having Beast, Son of Beast, Fairly Odd Coaster, and Racer, I doubt we see an investment in another woodie soon. I see a park like Cedar Point or Carowinds getting one first.

Before today, I always respected the efforts of KI's maintenance crew. After today at CP, with downtime on nearly every major attraction, I must say that I have owed KI's staff the utmost!!! respect and that I have not appreciated them nearly enough!!!!!

What's a GCII?

I didn't know either till I googled it.

Great Coasters International, Inc. offers the smoothest, most twisted and highest quality wooden roller coaster attractions in the world. Our staff of engineers, project coordinators, and field construction supervisors has earned the reputation of being the most conscientious in the business.

They are fast, have lots of airtime, some fantastic turns, great capacity, and are very family friendly.

I agree with all of the above except for the part about great capacity. I've seen capacity listings for GCIs running anywhere from 600 - 850 pph, which isn't exactly eating people through the line. Terminator Salvation is probably going to have a problem with this in their inaugural season, and the wait times will probably reflect that, particularly during the busy Summer season.

Giga I dont think we need Millie or Maggie now. Diamondback is far better than Millie and about on par with maggie.

As much as I love the air on DB, Millie's first drop blows DB's first drop out of the water. And the speed on that thing is out of this world.. especially since MF has no trims and no MCBR to ruin it or slow it down. I really do not see a fair comparison between MF and DB, they are two completely different ride experiences.

Maggie has all the roughness of a woodie with all the fun of a steel, and delivers some outstanding air. As great as DB is, Maggie is always going to be in my top favorites.

I would love to see something in the lines of Raptor or Maverick. Yesterday was my first ride on Mav and it quickly roes to one of my top 5 coasters. I like the fact that it has 4 small trains which allows more front seat riders.

But in all reality, I doubt that any Cedar Fair parks will get anything new that has not already been contracted. What we may see are more rides from park closings as CF consolidates it's properties or purchased from other soon to be defunct parks.

With the battle between Cedar Point and Six Flags MM I feel that CP will get another long before KI would.

What would they call it though since we already have a Flight Deck.

Son of a gun

 That would be a cool name for a ride.

Wait, I thought that after you finally rode DB on opening day you ended up saying you like it better than Millie?

I believe I heard that from Giga as well at RWW!

I can't make a decision. I love them both.

Although, I've been told by many that I will soon have a big decision to make concerning my top 5 coasters after I go on a certain voyage to a world full of holidays..

Terpy is starting to rub off on you! I'm not sure if that is good or bad. :P

I can't decide if that is a bunch of ka-ka or toro...

Terpy, who can hear the rolling thunder, but not on the top 5 coasters lists...
