I'm not sure of the years but Top Gun was previously a red color for a few years... If you look in the station and some other parts of the ride you can see it coming through. This is of course also along with the rust and the fading grey that covered up the red.

yep believe it or not this is really our top gun when it had its first paint on it...ir really was read and suprisingly i can remember some of it...and yes you can still see at some parts of track that it was red before, when in the station, go to the front car line and look after the train has gone up the lift hill...there is a small and i mean small sliver of red pain on the track just a little bit before the lift hill starts...there are only small specks of red left on the track and you actually have to know what to look for but when you know what your looking for you can always spot it out. the track was only red for like 2 or 3 years if i remember right...it wasnt red for that long for some reason...i guess it faded, and i actually remember it being just a lighter color of red than in that pic...

You can also see a good deal of the red near the rear of the station as well. I really wish FD would have received a new paint job rather than Vortex. I still love you Vortex, but Flight Deck stole my heart first. :D

Im still dreamin.

Bye-bye Flight Deck, Hello B&M invert.

ha yeah that would be nice... it just makes me so curious to wonder what they actually had for the themeing when top gun first opened. i heard rumors of fog and special lighting under the station where the line went back into. idk it seems like the ride would be alot better if they kept all of their theming to the ride or at least tried to keep as much as they can without the top gun name.

Yep they are all true, it was kind of made to look as if you were walking through the decks of an aircraft carrier. I believe they even had a small R.A.D.A.R. screen and some missiles in the underside of the queue area. That is if my memory serves me correctly.

And throw down another 20 million? And create another ride that not all of the family can enjoy? Why not just give Flight Deck some TLC. I love B&M inverts, so powerful an intense. But the park is not in a position, especially after Diamondback, to construct a brand new B&M.

I would love to see B&M try to work with that terrain though. Something like Nemesis would be fun but that is just me dreaming.
