IndyGuy4KI
Left the house right at 6:30. I was not sure how the traffic would be between here and KI and did not want to miss ERT so I gave myself lots of extra time. (Plus I needed to stop at Wal*Mark for some croakies that Terpy recommended.) Stopped in Shelbyville around 7am to their Wal*Mart to get my croakies. Found a black pair in the eyeglass section. It was closed, but could reach the rack with them on it. I then stopped at the in store McDonalds for some breakfast before taking off again. Pulled into KI parking lot at 8:37 am, I was the 5th car in the gold pass lot!! Was not sure what I was going to do for any hour, but walked on up to the metal detectors. Everyone was getting into lines. Once the security officers came out to the detectors the small crowd that was there separated into the lines where they were stationed. It was 9:15 and they had not opened the gates. Finally at 9:20 we got to go in. Of course I got in the line that had a buck of back packs and purses to search and took forever. The Gold Pass ERT was already open and I was on my way to DB. I was excited for I wanted to get 3 rides in during ERT to get my ride count to 30. By 9:48 am I had gotten in my 3. I never got out of my seat for all 3 rides. The trims and MCBR seem to be worn in a little bit better now for they were not as harsh as they were on RWW. Very nice rides! I headed for The Beast for ERT there. I also got 3 rides in on the same train and never got off. I think I was the only enthusiast there for I was the only one excited to ride. The ride op said she liked it when I rode, for I was the only one cheering when she asked. I took 2 back seat rides (Can’t remember the # of Cars) and then a 2-1 ride. Between it being that early and only having an average of 5 people on the trains, it made it go really slow. The trims were almost bringing it to a complete stop and it did on the MCBR. I agree with Sparky that it was running 10 to 15 MPH’s slower than it seemed before. At this time the running of the bulls had happened and so more of the rides were open. I made my way around the park by hitting BLSC, then Vortex, then off to FH. Can you believe that FW was walk on!!!! I had my first wait of the day as I got into the queue for FOF. I waited about 10 minutes to ride it, ridiculous. HA! I headed to Blue Racer and got 2 rides on that. There were about 3 maintenance men working on the red train track at the start of the second hill. There was like 3 of them so it looked serious. The sun finally came out and was starting to warm up. We had missed a storm earlier that morning so things were looking better. Headed to Delirium had about a 12 minute wait there. I then headed towards Congo Falls to cool off. I got about 40% wet in the front, it felt nice to cool off a little. I ran into Don with the new crew he mentioned on twitter yesterday. Asked him when he planned on hitting his 12,000th ride on Racer. He said he did not know for he had not even been on the ride this season. I looked at him in shock and said “Really!” I was getting hungry so I headed to Rivertown Junction for the buffet. I stopped at several placed and realized for a dollar or 2 more I could have a buffet. They had a nice collection of deserts and I had some really good cheese cake. After eating I headed to DB, it does not upset my stomach to ride after eating, plus I was right there. How could I resist jumping into that queue? Three more rides on DB with the last one being 1-1. I am not usually not a big 1-1 fan, but it is really cool on DB. Don’t plan on seeing the track in 1-1 if you are going down a hill, sort of freakish. I got my 35th ride on DB in this time. I then headed to The Beast for two more rides on him. I was talking to the same ride op again and she said there was a couple from Germany in the ahead of me. She was not sure if KI was the reason for her visit, but still really cool. I thought my 2 hr driver was long that morning! I then headed back to DB for one more ride before heading to Action Zone. I went straight to Congo Falls for a wet ride to cool off. I did not really get that wet, so I stood on the bridge and got soaked. It felt really nice, I then headed to SOB. Rode the Blue train. After getting on a ride op asked if ther was anyone in the seat next to me and I said no. he asked if he could ride with me. They were taking rides since it was not to busy. At the end of the ride while waiting to come onto the station he said that he thought the red train was much more rough than the blue train. Went to FD and ride it 2 times, since I made the 2 mile hike I wanted to get a few rides in. Headed towards The Racer, but stopped at AE first. I then rode Racer two times. Blue train was the only one running still. I headed back to The Beast for one last ride. Beast was running much better now. We had picked up at least 10 MPH’s of speed from the morning. We were no longer coming to a complete stop on the MCBR and trims were much better? Still a little confused for I did not think that weight had that much influence on the speed, but it was warmer. I then headed back to DB to finish my day. I wanted to hit the 40 mark before I went home. It was a few minutes after 5 and was wanting to leave around 6 pm for my 2 hour drive back to Indy. I was at 36 rides and needed 4 more. One of those 4 was another 1-1 ride. Awesome! I got my 40th ride in right at 6pm. I then headed towards the front gate. I went by SDATHC and thought of Keiko_Coaster. I hope she is feeling better! Also on my way out I say a KI security walking with a Mason Sherriff on patrol in the park. So that confirms for me that they do hire Mason PD in the park. 1 - AE 1- BLSC 13 - DB 6 - Beast 2 - Congo Falls 1 - Delirum 1 - FD 1 - FH 1 - FOF 4 - Racer 1 - SOB 1 - Vortex 33 Rides Total

IndyGuy4KI
Congrats on 40 Diamondback Rides! You got 13 rides in on Diamondback yesterday? I'm jealous......... Yes, and I was able to pace myself over the day since it was not busy. Wish you could have been there! The only bad part of the trip was no KICers to hang with. The Interpreter
1-1 on Diamondback means the front row....the two seats that sit side by side...and some people would use that to mean the left seat of the two...others would not...
