The Interpreter
...In 1997, the Knott family sold the park and the restaurant to Ohio-based Cedar Fair L. P.Despite that, the restaurant has changed little. The steamy kitchen, full of conveyor belts and Ford-style assembly lines, still dishes out about 1.5 million meals each year. But Marion Knott remembers the beginning. She's the only person alive to have served meals on Cordelia Knott's wedding china, on which she placed the first eight chicken dinners in June, 1934. The meals cost 65 cents apiece.... http://www.ocregister.com/articles/knott-r...-chicken-dinner

Jasper
I have never had the chance to make it to California sadly. I would like to take a trip to SFMM, KBF, and maybe just maybe WDL. If this trip goes through I am going to have to try some of this chicken they are raving mad about.

RollerNut
Magic Mountain was Wallyworld, and PGA(CGA) has Beverly Hills Cop.
jzarley
I've always loved the stories about Cordelia Knott serving the chicken dinners at the restaurant on her wedding china. But, what I've always wondered--how many place settings did she have? Walter & Cordelia must have done pretty well in their bridal registry! And, this has to be one of my favorite lines: "We had to put up the gate (and start charging admission) in 1968 because we were losing it to the hippies," Marion Knott said.
