DaveStroem
After getting a good nights sleep at the Holiday Inn in Batavia NY we headed to Toronto and Canada's Wonderland. With a brief stop at Canada's Customs we were on our way. We got to the park just before the turnstiles opened and headed to Behemoth for our first ride of the day. They held everyone back on one of the spokes till 10:00 on the dot then they got out of the way of the running of the bulls. We go to Behemoth behind the big rush but still just had a 10 minute wait. Behemoth was a great B&M in the same vein as our beloved snake but not quite as good IMO. Next up was their BLSC. It was basically the same but theirs did not have fire. While in line I meet a regular and asked what was typically the longest waits of the day. He said that BLSC, Flight Deck and Time Warp were their rides with the longest typical wait times. With this in mind we headed to Flight Deck. There version of Flight Deck is a Vekoma SLC that is incredibly well themed. It is in a military grey with a Navy fighter plane, a spinning radar dish, Quonset hut and a deuce and a half out front that was converted into a snack wagon. The ride was typical for a SLC with a bit of headbanging. Next up was time warp since this was a slow loading flying coaster. The cars only hold 4 people and don't stop for you to get on. The cage opens and the previous rider gets out. Then you quickly walk up to it and clime some steps/ladder to get yourself up to the shoulder restraint. Then the cage closes behind you and your off. The first thing is the ride vehicle goes over a hump that lifts the bottom of the car so you are now laying down. The lift mechanism is the most unique that I have ever seen. Each car has an arm that engages a large spinning 4 story paddle that pushes you up a helix. From here you fly around the ride twisting and flipping over barrel rolls etc. The ride was quite different and a little painful. I would recommend people ride it but only once. After this most of the other coasters were station waits with the exception of Vortex which is their Arrow suspended like our Flight Deck. Theirs goes up into the Wonder Mountain before coming back down and twisting over a lake. It was now 12:00 and Skyrider was opening for the day so we ran back to get a quick ride on there Togo stand up. It was the smoothest and had the best padding of the 3 Togo's that I have ridden. After this we did a walk on for Mighty Canadian Minebuster then off to the parking lot for Lunch. Upon returning from our turkey & ham sandwiches we rode WWC, Vortex, Thunder Run, The Fly and The Bat as well as several flats in the area. On of these flats caught my imagination it was called Shockwave and was unlike anything I have ever ridden. The experience was closest to Chaos at CP but was on a counter balanced arm. KI needs one of these. At this point my non-riding wife mustered up a little courage and decided to try Thunder Run and the Fly. Thunder Run is a powered coaster that goes inside and outside of Wonder Mountain below Vortex. The fly was your typical mouse with a drop. She didn't care for Thunder Run but liked the Fly enough that she might actually go on the mouse at SFKK next week. The girls wanted to go to the car and change shoes and shorts so Nancy handed me the camera & I went off shooting for the next hour. After this we rode shockwave again and did their kiddie area. On the map they call it Hanna-Barbera Land and have a separate section that is Nick Central. The line was too long for Scoobys Haunted Mansion so we just did the Ghoster Coaster. This is where we made our big mistake of the trip. Looking at the map there was a ride back in the kiddie section that looked like a small flume ride. It is way in the back of the park and we decided that we were done being wet so we didn't even venture back there. When I got home I relieved that is was a vekoma family suspended like Reptar. So we missed a coaster on our year of the coaster trip. Next up was dinner on some good pizza at an international street restaurant. Since we have Platinum Passes all food was 20% off and all Merchandise was 15% off. I wish that all CF parks had this policy. Much simpler then the save $2 here and get this meal deal there way that KI does it. After dinner we finished up all the rest of the coasters since they were predicting rain for the next day and we didn't know if we would be coming back or not. We got to Behemoth at 9:20 and jumped in line hoping to get a lap in before getting the final train. They were really hustling in the station and we got off the ride just 15 minutes later. The line started about the same place as it was at 9:20 so we got in line again. This time we got off with just 5 minutes till 10:00. We hung out talking to the attendants at the entrance till she was ready to move the trash can and were the last people in line. We waited for the front seat but as the queue emptied out we had to grab mid train seats for the last train of the night. I didn't care much about location at this point. We just wanted to put the ride to bed. The we got up and even though the predictions for the day were 40-60% chance of thunderstorms we had a beautiful day of re-riding our favorites from the day before till about 2:00 PM when we had to leave to get back at a reasonable time. I surprised the girls with one more detour and stopped at Primanti Bros. in Pittsburgh for their famous sandwiches with meat, fries and slaw on Italian bread. We went to the original which is not in the greatest looking part of town. The place was a bit of a dump but the food was very good. You have probably seen them on various food network shows like Dinners Drive-ins and Dives or Travel Channel's Man vs. Food. We grabbed the dogs in Wheeling and made it home before midnight. This was a great but long trip. If you have a CF Platinum Pass and a Passport I would HIGHLY recommend a trip to Canada's Wonderland. Now on to the photos. DaveStroem
One other thing that I forgot to mention. There Huss Flipper is a wet ride. As you are flipping around the fountain goes high enough to drench you. We did not ride it because of this. They told us that later in the evening they run it dry but we were headed to Behemoth at this time.

Brandon
Great trip report. I've enjoyed reading this 3 part series. I made it up to Canada's Wonderland in May. It's a great park and their International Street is amazing. Especially with Wonder Mountain there. So you didn't try one of their "foot long" hot dogs. I put foot long in quotation because they really should be called meter longs! They are huge. Yes, Shockwave is an amazing ride and I also enjoyed Sledgehammer- which is their Huss Jump2. DaveStroem
How do some of the rides cpmpare to Kings Islands? I like Canada's Wonderland better then KI, but KI mostly has them beat in a ride comparison. Behemoth vs Diamondback = Diamondback but just barely Wild Beast vs Beast = Beast no contest Bat vs Invertigo = Invertigo but again not by much Dragon Fire vs Vortex = Vortex Flight Deck vs _________ = Flight Deck, KI has nothing close to this. Skyrider vs __________ = Skyrider same as above Time Warp vs Firehawk = Firehawk. this in not really a fair comparison though Mighty Canadian Minebuster vs Racer = Minebuster again this is not a fair comparison but SOB would have gotten beaten too Canada's Wonderland had it all over KI when it came to flats. Other then Delerium KI does not have a single flat that excites me. The park is really quite beautiful and the people were very nice. We didn't do much in the way of food other then pizza but I liked the pizza we had better then LaRossa's. Brandon, Sledghammer was down both days that we were there. It looks like it would be fun but unfortunately we didn't get to try it out. Maybe next year.
The Interpreter
What incredible pictures. I am glad you all enjoyed Wonderland! I have got to get back up there again soon...I haven't been since Behemoth opened!
Brandon
^That stinks that Sledge Hammer was down, it is a great ride. The only real complaints I had against this park were line jumping was out of control, and the ride ops weren't getting the rides going quickly. The biggest example of this was Skyrider, where they were taking AT LEAST 10 minutes to get each train going. It actually turned a station wait until over an hour wait for us! The employees weren't that friendly when we went though, but maybe that had something to do with temperature in the 40s/low 50s! They were amazed that I was taking my jacket off when riding the coasters. But yea everything else was great at this park, and has TONS of exciting flats. Mostly just meeting up 2-3 people in front of us so not a big deal. Once there was a group come though and I said "excuss me" they responded with "we are only going up to be with our friend". I then told them "have your friend come back and be with you". Funny thing is, he did and they went back to where they were at in line. I guess they just needed someone to stand up to them. Brandon
Yea, when we went there was tons of line jumping. The people were kind of stupid too because they were hopping the Behemoth fence 20 minutes after the park had already closed and all of the people in line were already in the station. So, of course, the employees standing there kicked them out. But the Behemoth line was the only place it was enforced. Most of the time, the people that were line jumping knew little to know english so it was hard trying to confront them about it.
The Interpreter
...or they at least pretended to know little to no English!
