lance99 Posted July 13, 2009 Share Posted July 13, 2009 hey guys, When I was working at the park last week I was on my feet all day and have now injured my ankle. Any suggestions on rides to aviod??. And does The Crypt have water features? i would say Diamonback would be good, Not in back seat but its an easy ride to get in and out of. i would also say maybe Crypt, Drop Tower, or Delirium, or Invertigo. try to avoid like The Beast or ETC. All water rides unless you find a way to not get the bandage wet. Of the three water rides in the main park, Wild Thornberries leaves you driest, while WWC will usually drench you. Other than that, the park should be yours to enjoy. However, keep the following in mind when you go to Coney Mall: Monster's pods are rather cramped. As long as you're careful, you'll be fine, but whacking your ankles on those pods is a very painful experience. You slide around in your seat quite a bit on Scrambler. If your right ankle is injured, you should be fine. If it's the left one, you might want to skip Scrambler. If your right ankle is injured, avoid Dodgems unless you can ride with someone else. Put another way, even if you did not injure your ankle on the job, I'd not do anything that might worsen that injury. Why take chances? violakat03 Posted July 14, 2009 Share Posted July 14, 2009 I have a permanent injury to my ankle from being a klutz. None of the rides bother it. However, walking and standing for extended periods of time can, so when I'm at a park for multiple days I wear a brace on it and am conscious of how much walking I'm doing. My best suggestion is to keep off of it as much as you can since it's a recent injury. Keep it elevated to keep the swelling down. If it's bothersome enough to be a concern on rides, it's probably best to just not go to the park in your off time. Ask if you can get a chair when you're working until it has healed completely. Trust me, a little nuisance now and letting it heal correctly is nothing when compared to what it can cause further down the road if you don't let it heal. Our boats leak like crazy and half the time there is standing water in them, so even if you don't get so wet on the ride, your feet will usually get fairly wet. Because we have families that would ride with us if they didn't get so darn wet. Because we have no desire to pay five bucks for a family drier. And because the gratuitous and totally unnecessary elephant was added years later only to soak riders who otherwise had not gotten all that wet. It's rather ridiculous. It's not unlike the absurd misters Cedar Fair has added to the Timberwolf roller coaster at World's of Fun. The ride had operated for years without them, but Cedar Fair added them. And the water those things spurt out is filthy. I literally could barely see until I found a restroom to wash off my glasses. And I stunk the rest of the day. Totally unneeded. I should have suspected something when I sat down in a very wet seat to ride. I thought the guy before me had just ridden the flume or something. Up the lift hill we went, down the trim braked hill we went, up the next hill we started and then it happened...at first I thought someone had spit on me. I was furious. Then it happened again and again, and I couldn't believe it. When I got off, I asked the ride operator about it. It was always a competition with our group as to who would get hammered the most by the water. You come down the hill, laugh at the one, yes, it was always one person, who really got it the worst, and then BAM, cheap shot!!!!
