Which is Better, Beast or DB

Featured Replies

I refuse to vote. I see these two contraptions as so different from each other, I view the question as no different than "Which would you rather do, see an excellent Broadway play or eat a luscious dinner at a four star restaurant?" My answer is yes.

Yes.

Terpy, who just HAD to

I must agree with Terpy on this one... By today's standards, DB is better... But for those of us who remember waiting two plus hours to ride the biggest coaster in the world 30 years ago, nothing will ever top the experience of riding The Beast!!!

I was 10 years old and was riding the greatest coaster in the world.......!!!!!!

--Beatle, still feeling very blessed for that opportunity!

So for the presidential election did you not vote? They were different in every single way... (Black/white, Young/old, Dem./Repub.)

Zach, just sayin...

P.S. Beast by far.

Or, in many ways they were not. We don't discuss politics here. Thank goodness!

Terpy, who did vote, of course, and doubtless in a way that few who don't know him would expect...

Thank God we don't. Geesh, over at Pointbuzz a lot of topics turn to politics and it drives me nuts.

Anyways if it wasn't for Beast's double helix DB would take me, but Beast is winner.

Well, they are 2 differnet animals.

I prefer to ride DB right now, but that could be the different experience you get on DB that we have not had in the last 30 years. For memories and tradition, I choose Beast!

The Beast is unique- there's other coasters that try to prowl and dash through the woods, but there'll never be anything else like The Beast.

How about Diamondbeast or Beastback?

Haha. That made me think of a wooden Diamondback and a steel beast. Weird.

Diamondback by far!!! Beast is a decent ride, but Diamondback is the best thing I've ever ridden!

The Beast by FAR! Even though they're nothing alike, The Beast is long, and it's got nice scenery through the woods. Diamondback is fun too but The Beast is so fun!!

They are two completely different rides and two completely different experiences. Both excel at what they aim to do, and both are fantastic rides.

But, if I were at Kings Island and had a choice between Diamondback and Beast, I would rather ride Diamondback.

Sorry, Beast, but the trims are murder. The Helix Finale though is unmatched by any other element at KI, if that says anything.

Diamondback is 489,785,740,029 times Better than Beast could ever be!

Beast is better at night, but Diamondback is better during the day.

That said, Beast at night is better than any other coaster I've ridden any time during the day, IMO.

I agree with those who have said they are very different rides and hard to compare; however, I can easily choose. To quote a T-shirt I've seen, I'd rather ride a woodie! Plus, while I despise the trims on both rides, even though The Beast has more of them, it also has the advantage of being very unique. I've ridden The Beast 142x this season now, and Diamondback 54. Does that say anything?! FYI - The lines yesterday were about equal for both rides. That tells me something as well.

From what I saw yesterday, The Beast had a line that was longer than Diamondback's...

Maybe because Diamondback has high capactiy.

And because people still love The Beast...and by the way, it was great to ride DB with you yesterday, Diamondback FOF!

I know. But, The Beast has a high capacity too.

You said it! With 36 riders per train, it has great capacity. It's slowed down by seatbelts, though...and those who don't seem to know how to fasten them.

I don't think it is as high as Diamondback's though.

When I was in line for The Racer yesterday, someone was having problems buckling their seat belt. The ride op had to wait a minute (no joke) for the kid to finally get buckled  .
