When I was at the park the line moved way too slow. It seemed to me that it is inexperienced ride ops. When it was at Geauga Lake the ride ran smoother, for example: When a train was hitting the final brake run, another train was heading out of the load station. Like clock work. At KI there are always both trains in the station just sitting there with slow ride ops. They act like they have never done this job before.(Maybe they haven't) I do understand that the ride is more complex than, lets say The Beast, with a simple seatbelt and lap bar but it needs to run smoother and faster.

Firehawk has to have the train in the station in the station before another can leave. Thats because of block reasons. And i have been told by some ride-ops who work there that it is not an easy ride to run at all.

Considering also that they installed a new lowering system for the trains when they moved the ride parks, more time could be lost there. I think the crew does a pretty awesome job whenever I am around they always seem like someone is mad at them for lost articles they should get some bins there...

Its a very complex ride... I wouldnt wait in line for it though, (prob cuz i rode it some many times when it was green)

I rode it once this year and i think that was enough for me. Think about what has to be done while loading

Firehawk

1. Enter the train.

2. Maneuver yourself into the harness.

3. Wait for the ride op. to push down the lapbar/ankle shackle.

4. Clear to recline

5. All Clear

Dianmonback

1. Enter train.

2. Secure loose articles (optional)

3. Pull down lapbar.

4. All clear.

So guests can take up even more of the ride ops time arguing that someone took what they left and they think the park should be responsible? And so Cedar Fair can give up the revenue from the lockers outside Flight of Fear/Firehawk? That won't be happening.

On Firehawk, a second train can be launched once the earlier train reaches the second inline rolll. That's because the earlier train will inevitably each the break run once it hits the second inline roll since the rest of the ride is downhill, and the newly-launched train won't crest the lifthill until the earlier train hits the break run.

Also, it loaded at about the same speed here at Six Flags. Trust me, SF:WOA / GL was my home park. The only thing that makes it seem so much slower to me at Kings Island is the whole stopping and then letting one train of people go down to the stations. It's the same thing that ticked people off about Tomb Raider's line... It felt like you weren't moving, because you weren't. You're completely stopped for a good five to six minutes (an eternity in amusement park line time) and then 77 people move at once. But because they stopped you before the antechamber, you had no idea why this massive amount of people all moved at once, etc.

Remember, these rides were designed to run with 3 trains (X-Flight was delivered with 3 trains), but the operations with 3 on were unrealistic. X-Flight's 3rd train (was it green?) was used for parts by the ride's second season.

If Firehawk would have had that 3rd train it had at Geauga Lake that would help out alot using the dual stations. That way two trains could be loading and one waitng. When the one loading completes the circuit the other train loading would go. So you almost always have 2 trains loading. I dont ride Firehawk cause the line is always long for a medicore ride.

If the ride were truly mediocre in the opinion of most, it would NOT have a long line, even if operations were somewhat slow. Most people don't get in line AND wait for mediocre attractions, at least not after the first time.

And, in my opinion, Firehawk is far better than the Superman: Ultimate Flights at Six Flags Over Georgia, Six Flags Great America and Great Adventure. I still prefer Nightwing to it, and Tatsu to all the coasters I have listed in this paragraph.

Haven't gotten to Manta yet, but it is high on the to do list...

I got to ride Firehawk for the first time about a month ago. It was my first ride on a flyer. I did not know what to expect, and wasn't expecting much. However, the ride greatly exceeded my expectations. It offered a unique ride experience with excellent G's, surprise and variety. It was also a decent length. I compare this ride to FOF, which I also rode for the first time on the same day. Whereas Firehawk exceeded my expectations, FOF did not meet my expectations.

I'm actually in the same boat, less the opinion regarding Nighthawk down at Carowinds. Firehawk and Nighthawk to me were basically the same ride experience, although the corkscrews on Nighthawk (vs. the barrel rolls on Firehawk) were unique. I'd also add that we should be VERY thankful that Firehawk isn't right at the front of the park (and the first coaster you see entering the front gates) like Nighthawk is. Vekoma flying coasters lines move very slowly, but I guess that's to be expected when you're dealing with those types of restraints.

B&M's restraints are much easier to load, thus, the lines tend to move much more quickly. The downside is that B&M's are VERY uncomfortable if you stay in that position for a long time (i.e., if you get stuck in the brake run for an extended time). Firehawk/Nighthawk are much better than the Supermen: Ultimate Flights, but Tatsu is WAY above any of the other flying coasters (haven't ridden Manta yet, either). Part of it is the environment (there's much more open space around Tatsu and it actually feels like you're flying around the mountain) and the other part is the fact that it is much faster and more intense from start to finish.
