The Interpreter Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 ...In past years, the weird folks at Six Flags have given us the opportunity to do gross things during Fright Fest such as eat live hissing kockroaches--all in the name of good fun (and fright), of course. This year, Six Flags Over Georgia will celebrate the spooky and the freaky by inviting guests to be buried alive. Yes, you read that correctly: BURIED ALIVE. For an additional fee (and really, who wouldn't want to cough up some extra cash to be buried alive), Fright Fest visitors can participate in something called "The Last Ride." According to the park, gravediggers will toss participants into a hearse, drive them to the cemetery, throw them in a coffin, and shovel dirt on top of them. Oh, did I mention that there will be bugs inside the coffin? Talk about a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Other Six Flags parks will offer different, and decidedly less outrageous, Fright Fest haunted mazes, shows, attractions, and events.... emphasis in the original, spelling of one word altered to avoid overzealous filter here http://themeparks.about.com/b/2009/09/17/s...fright-fest.htm Quote
CedarPointer Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 I am, well, shocked. Just shocked. Quote
TylerRider Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 I am, well, shocked. Just shocked. Who would do that!!!!! Quote
Diamondback FOF Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 That is a little...ummm...extreme if I get a say. I think it would be a neat experience. I would even consider doing it if it were at KI and there weren't bugs in the coffins. I'm a little worried about what will happen if someone has a panic attack. Will they have them hooked up to a heart monitor, live video feed, anything in order to see the occupant in the coffin at all times? Quote
The Interpreter Posted September 17, 2009 Author Posted September 17, 2009 I have some friends who are dieing to try it out.... Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 This line made the entire read worth it: "For an additional fee (and really, who wouldn't want to cough up some extra cash to be buried alive)" Quote
Beast1979 Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Would I do it? Yes, this is a unique opportunity! Would I do it again? Heavens no! Quote
The Interpreter Posted September 17, 2009 Author Posted September 17, 2009 I can only imagine what Six Flags is asking for this unique experience. I doubt it is just a few nickels. Quote
Wonderland Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Ugh, I wouldn't do this if they were paying me ! Quote
raptor Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Only if I can get buried in a Kiss Coffin Quote
Scooby_Doo Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Yiiiikes! No Way,Man! You can count me out!... Hold on, Man. I don't go anywhere with the words 'scary', 'spooky', 'haunted' 'forbidden' or 'creepy'.. or even 'Haunt' in the name or hydroclonic, but that's for a whole different reason, man!...and I don't do things that being with ''fright'' either! Quote
IslandAddict Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 I would do this. And get it on tape to send it to Criss Angel. Just to show him its not "magic." Quote
CincyMan98 Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Can't you die in a coffin - no air? No one's gonna do it. It's really stupid. Quote
Touchdown Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 The Mythbusters had a hard time dealing with this, sans bugs. If Jaime had a hard time, most others will too. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen, stupid, stupid, stupid. Quote
Diamondback FOF Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 ^^And you know this how? There will be some people who do it. Also, there is enough air in a coffin to support life for a little while, just not forever. Quote
Dbfan Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 They cant just be burying the coffin, maybe its a special coffin that lets you breathe? Quote
Diamondback FOF Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Maybe it is a larger than normal coffin that also has air circulation (like you said) or an oxygen tank in case you panic. Quote
KI Kevin Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 It'd be interesting at first, but after a few minutes don't you think it'd get boring? Quote
The Interpreter Posted September 18, 2009 Author Posted September 18, 2009 Not as boring as it would be if you didn't know that they were going to let you out. I mean, you could spend eternity in a coffin. Quote
Mr. Coastermania Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 I'll do it if they video tape it. Quote
FireBeast Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 This is just a lawsuit waiting to happen. Quote
PKIVortex Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 I wonder if you'll have to sign a waiver form? I'm not sure I would do this. Quote
The Interpreter Posted September 18, 2009 Author Posted September 18, 2009 And I am not at all sure a waiver would be worth the paper it is written on, except to the extent that the person who signed it thought it was . . . Quote
