Fortunatey I have Time warner cables new DVR so I have the VMAs in a picture in picture screen and Extreme on the main and vice versa. Anyway, I'm a huge tech guy so I loved the part where the cameras went up to the top of Delirium to explain its inner workings....Still waiting for TR to show up.....

I just finished watching and recording the DISCOVERY channel program. They did a nice job with Delirium - but only briefly highlighted TR:TR.

I was shocked by how young Todd Bills is because I thought that he was older.

I can't wait for the TR:TR show to come out - mostly because I'll see myself.

Whenever I see PKI on TV, I feel a sense of pride and joy. Due to recent changes in my "family" situation, I won't be able to afford to visit any theme park but PKI for a few years anyway.

Have a great day!

So was the bit on Delirium good?  I had to miss for football practice.

Mr. Tanner,

I thought that the Discovery Channel did an admirable job of displaying Delirium. Some featured speakers were Jeff Siebert (a deity on this web page), Todd Bills ( a well-known PKI fan), a ride engineer from PKI, and a beautiful young Asian-American lady.

The footage of Delirium was great! So great that I will go to PKI this weekend to ride Delirium if the weather allows it and I find at least one person to hang out with.

Have a groovy day!

I'd say it was the best Extreme Rides show they've done. The Delirium part shows that the ride is everything it's hyped up as... A couple of people I know personally, Allen Greene and Todd Bills were shown. Teriffic!

Two other rides I've been on, Top Thrill Dragster and Superman: Ultimate Flight (although I rode the one at SF Great America near Chiago, not the one shown at SF Great Adventure in New Jersey), and those are great too.

As for the VMA's, I just saw the highlights that remind me why I don't watch that piece of garbage. I heard that Johnny Cash was nominated for 6 awards, but couldn't be there because of hospitalization for stomach problems... I bet the thought of going on the show made him sick! Just my honest opinion here..

Is it just me or was that shot of the Mechanic on Delirium while the arm was at full swing sweet. I personally think that Discovery did a great job on this Extreme Rides installment and didn't show to much of TR:TR due to the later one that has Italian Chef in it. My top three favorite scenes from EXTREME RIDES'03 are.

1:Delirium Footage

2:Swat Footage/Top Thrill Dragster Footage

3:Discovery calling Zonga a new ride lol. (I know it's new to SFMW but it's really a old ride) ph34r.gif

They did a great job with the Delirium segments. Good ol' Jeffery hyping up our rides. I really liked some of their camera angles, like the one of the camera mounted on the arm, so it looks like the ring stays in one spot but rotates and the ground/sky is moving not the ride.

While the Tomb Raider one was short, it gave a good feel of what you get inside. Its not that great of a ride compared to Delirium (not enough movement, in my opinion) so it really shouldn't get that much attention as compared to Delirium, Xcelerator, TTD,.... the list goes on.

I'm proud to say I've ridden every ride shown on there except the Claw and Swat.

Hehehe, guess I'll be appreciating how young I look when I'm 30 years old. Chef, I'm actually 22 :-)

Moving on, I thought they did a great job with the Delirium segment. They definitely had some interesting camera angles. Its nice to see PKI get some spotlight, very much deserved!

Yea I thought that too. They had some nice angles. Some better than others. I like the part with the mec. on top while the ride was in operation. And going inside the little white building, and if you look out the window you could see Delirium in motion.

Was that Sparky in the drivers seat? cool.gif

My favorite part was the interview with Mr. Ed Dangler. I've met him before and he's a great guy...but it was just funny watching someone named "Dangler" being interviewed at the top of the ride. LOL.

What's also funny is that I got to see the show WITH Mr. Siebert and company at our GR party last night. It was a fun show and I enjoyed seeing the ins and outs of the other rides on the list as well as Delirium.
