It really sucks when a company has to eliminate things that many have been used to for years to save money.

For instance, the company I work for has eliminated the annual summer family picnic for financial reasons.

...and some of these 'cost-saving' moves cost more than they save. How much will morale suffer because the picnic was dropped? How do you measure the difference in media coverage after certain nice things that were once given to media are eliminated?

And isn't it interesting all the little things that get cut while the perks for the higher ups are either not eliminated or even often are actually increased?

And this is why we shouldn't have the wolves voting on whether or not to add a new fence around the sheep pasture...
