Holiday World

Featured Replies

I'm hoping to go to HW sometime this summer. Any advice? I know todefinatly hit the Voyage but what else is a must?

Holiday World is an incredible park with lots to offer. You won't find a cleaner park or nicer staff anywhere. The theme park side does not have a huge selection of rides but all three wooden coasters, Raven, Legend, and Voyage are all incredible (Voyage is my overall #1). Head to Voyage first thing as the line can grow pretty quickly. Gobbler Getaway and Patriot Launch are my favorite flat rides in the park.

Splashin' Safari is a great waterpark with a huge slide selection. Zoombabwe and Zinga are great waterslides, though the lines for both can get quite long in the afternoon. I am sure Wildebeest will be a great ride too. Pilgram's Plunge is a neat ride but I usually only ride it once per visit. The one thing to note is that many of the lines for the slides involve going up A LOT of stairs.

I hope you find a chance to get down there this season, its a great park!

I usually hit up Voyage, Legend, then Raven a couple of times, then when I get hot I spend the rest of the day at the waterpark.

You definately want to ride all three coasters. All their coasters run trim brake free too (at least they did last year)!!! They all three are great rides in their own way. Raven is right by the entrance to the park, you'll want to wait a while to get it. One time I was there, the line was nuts right after opening, but later in the day it was a walk-on. Holiday World is a great park to visit. Hope you do find time to get there this summer! :D

And this year they are adding the biggest water coaster or something right???

And with ky kingdom closing holiday world is the great louisville's park now, and we'll continue to expand.

Do they get a million yet in people????

Also it would be great addition for a metal coaster, and lots' more flats;

This is a stupid correction, but that would be called a "steel" coaster. Not a metal. Haha. :P

That was the best pun ever^.

And I do agree they need a "steel" coaster, because it seems kind of boring to have a bunch of wooden coasters. They might also want to add more thrill rides, because they don't have much compared to some bigger parks.

And the puns just keep on coming.

oliday World is a nice little park. I`ve been a couple of times, but the last time I visited was back in 2006, shortly after The Voyage opened. Its not that bad of a drive from the Cincinnati area. It will be interesting to see how those new Timberliners ride on The Voyage this year.

One tip I have for you is to join a coaster club that is partnered with HW. The club price is $28.95. I know that ACE, & CoasterBuzz get this price for card carrying members.

^ Good advice. There are some really cheap coaster club options that may work even better for you if you look at their page:

I'll disagree about hitting Voyage first thing. If your sole mission is to get on in short order at opening then I'd agree, but otherwise, I'd strongly recommend that you hit Raven, Legend, and Voyage in that order. If you do Voyage first you may be let down by the other two even though they're both good coasters. Just a thought.

...not to mention good wood coasters (and even bad ones) often need time to warm up. Imagine the anticipointment if your first Beast ride is on the first Beast train of the day. Often very slooooooooooow........

^ I been on the first Beast train of the day, in the very front seat with 0 people on the train with me. Most boring ride ever on The Beast

Also it would be great addition for a metal coaster

But they do have a steel coaster: http://www.rcdb.com/555.htm tongue.gif

Paul Revere's Midnight Ride (the "octopus-style ride" is how it's described on their website) and Rough Riders (their bumper cars) are both fun as well.
