For those of you who work at Fear Fest, or know how operations work, this question is for you:

If there was a guest who was going through one of the haunted houses and he/she "broke down" for lack of a better term, would the employees drop character and help the person get out of the attraction?

I wondered what kind of training employees go through and what they are told to do if there is a problem with a guest, such as someone being so scared that they can't continue. I realize that this wouldn't happen often, ( the haunted houses in my opinion are more amusing than scary ) but in case it does, what are employees told to do?

The employees are supposed to "drop character" and help the guests out. The characters know where the emergancy (and other) exits are for the houses and should be able to quickly remove a guest for any reason. There are also ushers at the entrances and exits of all the houses to assits guests for such reason.

Nah, they'd go ahead and scare them to death.

j/k of course they would. I was at a haunted house and a friend of mine had a seizure several years ago. It was funny to see Satan and the Grim Reiper help her up.

On Saturday evening while waiting in line for the House of Darkness, we found it rather amusing that a man in line was asking the usher at the door if they thought it might be too scary for his pregnant girlfriend and if it might throw her into labor. Thought they should have maybe thought this out before even thinking of coming to something like this. Would of been rather amusing though for the workers! laugh.gif

Delivering babies is just like football, open your arms and catch! Just don't fumble....................

I'm sure our First Aid staff would love to deliver a baby on park property... it's never happened before and I think they are after the little pink or blue stork pins they get after the delivery.

This brings up an interesting question. Does the park actually employ Paramedics on the First Aid staff, since they are the only ones who trained/certified to deliver newborns, if something advanced were to occur?

I really doubt anyone that pregnant would go on vacation or to an amusement park. Seems a little silly to me. Although there are premature births, what would be the point if you didn't have a pass.

I believe they do. Mason is also close as well if they need more help.

I know they employ EMTs, which aren't quite as qualified as paramedics, but should be able to help a woman in labor well enough to get her to the hospital. So Chef, you have nothing to fear.**

**What an honor it would be to be born in the park.
