Coney Islander
The Beach Waterpark | rides & attractions: PARK MAP The title explains all. Something I find very interesting, a popular slide is missing, from the map AND the website. The slide beyond Snake River Rapids and the goat farm is not listed anywhere... Maybe this means something? Edit- Nevermind. I overlooked Snake River Rapids. Most of the slides have videos and POVs. It also appears The Beach will be getting a webcam. Dbfan
It also states Aztec Adventure as the only Water Coaster in the midwest. False.
Coney Islander
They've been saying that since the slide opened in/around 1985. They were the first, so I suppose they never got around to changing the slide's billing. Aztec Adventure is a very unique slide and interestingly does not use any sort of launch as modern water coasters do. Tubes get stuck all the time, but the airtime is AMAZING. This ride has more air time than most of the roller coasters at Kings Island... And watch out for the final drop!
CoastersRZ
Aztec Adventure is newer than 1985. (I seem to recall the mid 1990s this slide being advertised as new). An interesting item of note, this is The Beach`s 25th anniversary season. It first opened in 1985, four years before Kings Island opened Water Works (now Boomerang Bay). bkroz
As a layman who can only guess, was Water Works added to compete with The Beach, or just a coincidental water-park expansion across all of the KECO Parks? Also, when did our water park open in relation to the other parks in the chain?
CoastersRZ
That is a very good question. I`ll have to do some digging to find the answer to when the other KECO water parks opened. I want to say that Kings Island`s was among the first in the chain, but as I stated, I need to do some digging. If I remember I`ll do that tomorrow after work. XGatorHead 8904
I think it's funny that on that map, the tubes on Lazy Miami River are flowing the wrong way. The tubes on the map are moving clockwise, when the ride actually flows counter-clockwise. Not a big deal, just something I noticed. I have a lot of experience navigating that ride. CoasterFreak45
What's up with snake river rapids being under construction? Are they changing it?

Coney Islander
What's up with snake river rapids being under construction? Are they changing it? I'm sure "Under Construction" was referring to the Interactive Park Map.
TBW
It is not in reference to the Interactive Map :-)
Oldiesmann
I'm guessing that the "Under Construction" has something to do with the two slides they bought from Wyandot Lake (see this post for more details).
Coney Islander
To progress... Has anyone been to the Beach recently, and seen construction?
Coney Islander
Taken from my Nokia Phone: Interesting... I'd guess that both Snake River Rapids and Jolly Mon Shores will reopen. They're definitely not pretending these attractions don't exist, as Cedar Fair or Six Flags would try to do.
Guest rcfreak339
The last time I went to the Beach was in 2007 and I really liked the place, only thing it needed was paint and I have heard it has gotten a lot of that in the past year. What happened to the slide that is being held in storage? It seems like it's been there for years...
Coney Islander
http://www.KICentral...showtopic=21883 In a post by TOPGUN1993, there's an overhead view of the Wyandot Lake slides. As for the log flume pieces, I have no idea... // The Beach has had a number of rather large general improvements this year. I'll post the PTR, if I can find the time. Beast79
Sweet I loved Snake river falls when I was a kid, I haven't gone there much over the years but I was wondering why they didn't have that side of the park open lately.
BeastForever
By "transformation" of the SRF/JMS area could this mean it's possible that they might add a new slide there?
Coney Islander
I'd say its much more likely something new is built, than the area's current attractions just being refurbished. Wether it be the Wyandot Lake slides, the log flume pieces or the "miniature golf" Screamscape rumor, I'm not sure. // Also, I'd much hope Snake River Rapids not to be removed. Its a very fun and unique attraction for the whole family... Another one of those deep forest rides that makes The Beach so unique. (My third favorite attraction in the park... Hidden Rapids first, Aztec Adventure second.) Grab your innertube and experience the twists and turns of Snake River Rapids. Nestled in a wooded area, riders descend through a waterfall before entering the tunnel passageway which delivers them to the waiting splash pool. 1 The archived 1997 website has a lot of great descriptions to currently operating "flumes." http://web.archive.o...hwaterpark.com/ Edit: Looking through archives, found a much better description to Snake River Rapids: This real river experience begins with a careening slide into a river rapids that snakes and winds its way through the wooded terrain, descending to a final plunge through the chilly waterfall cascading from the Log Cabin. A true river rafting ride that is fun for everyone!
