Kirk Sheppard Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Went up for a morning visit and will post a complete Trip Report in that forum, but a few thoughts... Rain wasn't keeping anyone from having fun, though crowds were appropriately light for a Weds AM in the rain. The Beast was closed around 10:30 with an employee at the entrance nicely turning away guests; not sure why . . . Umbrellas are only $8.99 . . .that's better than I'd expect given the food prices. . . Speaking of food prices, an order of mozzerella sticks at LaRosa's is no more than it is if you order it at a real LaRosas's store . . . given how much they charge for two slies of pizza and a Coke, I found this surprising. Employees were all very friendly today and seemed to be having fun with the wet guests . . . Quote
The Interpreter Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 ...only if he is wearing a suit and tie that particular day... Besides, he has a Six Flags employee umbrella in the car...and he wonders how security would react to him using that! Quote
chaddie Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Only if you can get it through the metal detector! Quote
Purplehaze Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Half the time they do not even work. They never check bags like they use to either. Things slack after time I guess. Quote
The Interpreter Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Some things are paramount with one management group, but not with another. Heaven forbid there is a serious incident at some point in the future. If there is, current policies may be revisited...in one forum or another... Quote
EssentiallyCoaster Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 My friend brought in three bags of chips in his bag. Also, near 6 when I left one time they didn't even have security present! Quote
Purplehaze Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Last week a family had a whole lunch with them and eating on the tables in Rivertown Pizza. I mean they had the whole thing, lunch meat, loaves of bread, condiments and drink pouches chips and dessert cakes. I was like wow! This is not the first time this year I have seen things like this. They did that cause of 911, Now that it is kinda in the past they have relaxed. Quote
CedarPointer Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 I have seen *so* many people bringing in outside food and drink, I didn't even realize until recently that it wasn't actually allowed! Quote
The Interpreter Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 When Mr. Kinzel & Co. finally realize they are losing nickels by not spending as many nickels on security at the front gate, then, perhaps, they will begin to take front gate security seriously again. Per caps matter, ya' know... Quote
Kirk Sheppard Posted June 9, 2010 Author Posted June 9, 2010 I have seen *so* many people bringing in outside food and drink, I didn't even realize until recently that it wasn't actually allowed! I saw a kid bring in a full bag of Arby's sandwiches as I was leaving on Sunday. He had just walked in the gates holding it high where all could see, which I would assume includes security. Quote

Per caps matter, ya' know... Shame on them, they should know this already! If they don't then too bad. And maybe again they don't really care. Quote
