they are going to reinstall the loop on Son of Beast.

The are putting back the loop on the SOB? AWESOME! Can not wait to tell everyone and WIKI it.

The Dippin' Dots guy told me. He also told me they would be putting one of the loops from The Vortex on the regular Beast.

(not really)

^ "Cedar Fair will go bankrupt." There you go sir...

That really depends. If they continue to spend like they are now, then yes, they probably will. If they make some changes, then it's hard to say. It also depends on the way the economy spins. People in the media seem to think that the economic problems are over... I'm not too sure.

This is part two of the original poll "CF or Paramount" featuring featuring some different questions about the topic.

I really miss Paramount. I love the themed rides that they built like FOF, The Italian Job, and Tomb Raider.

I always loved that movie feeling that they would put at KI. Everytime I look at The Paramount Story(which is now the Tower Gardens) I always think of the good ol' days at KI. This is because the Tower Gardens still have some of the Hollywood movie cameras just out side the entrance gate.

I'm curious... Did you visit KI prior to, say, 1988?

No, by "good ol' days at KI," I actually meant "PKI."

My mistake.

Trust me, the good 'ol days were from 1972 - 1988 or so. That's not meant to negate the good strides Paramount and CF made. However the earliest decades of KI are the ones most look upon with sincere fondness - mostly due to the awe factor the park held. KI was THE park duing that timeframe... it was hands down the best regional theme park in the nation. The late 1980s- 1990's saw the park's determination to be the best fade IMo, and it's been playing catch up since.

However, I have faith and believe the park may have more glory days ahead.

I think I mislead everybody. Since I grew up going to KI when Paramount owned it. I meant the "good ol' days" as when Paramount owned it. Now I'm no therapist or anything but I think the reason I think of the Paramount days as "the good ol' days" is because I became accustomed to when Paramount owned it.

I was thinking of this while walking around at the park yesterday. I miss the days when Paramount owned the park. I miss the feeling you would get when you walked through the gates and there was the Paramount logo right in front of the fountains. The theming of the rides was also a major plus, back when The Crypt was actually an enjoyable ride with great theming, Flight of Fear's pre-show actually made the wait for the ride that much better (i.e. When Mr. Christopher grabs the electric plug and the TV's go dark, the queue house use to go completely dark as well), and Backlot Stunt Coaster had water at the end and more detail inside the cars. This is not saying I do not like Cedar Fair, but I just miss Paramount.

I love the FOF pre-show. Even If I've watched it a hundred times it still entertains and it makes the line move faster. I like the part where they show the "HANGAR CAMERA" and it shows the que line. It's also funny when the scientist says to all the news reporters. "This flying saucer business is all but a ridiculous hoax pulled by a local amusement park and a publicity stunt for their latest attraction." Also I have a question about FOF. Does it have two trains or three? Or did it used to have three? Cause last time I checked I only saw trains 2 and 3.

LOL, that's it! We've found the source of the problem!

Kidding

My actual point is, the better days of the park existed when there was a core group of owners that's full attention was devoted to KI year after year and still had the original concept in mind. In the late 1980's the park began to change hands, have new owners, have the owners bought out, become a part of a conglomorate, have the conglomorate bought out, divded, sold etc etc etc. Thus all those changes led to an overall inconsitancy and changing directives for the park(s.) There was no focus, so the park sort of lost it's footing, and it's innocence.

How neat would it be for Cedar Fair to find some idea from the original Kings Island "concept" that was never realized (if there are any) and build it?

I love when the turnstiles are not open, and they say: "There are people in the hangar!" Then it shows the hangar with nobody in it.

Ya I love when that happens.
