Yesterday in the park: 7/7/10

I went to Kings Island yesterday with my friend. We stayed from 6 'o' clock until closing time. And we noticed that neither Delirium,Face/off, and out of all rides to be inconveniencely closed, of course, CONGO FALLS!!! was open. And Believe me it was a hot one yesterday. We really wanted to go on it. We also noticed that Vortex kept on breaking down. Any explanations for these closed down rides...?

So was CF open or closed?

There could be many reasons these rides are down. Mechanical or any reason really, you can rest assure they do not close them to save electricity or save them for a busier day :)

I really can not believe people do not see these signs before they enter the park, scrolling signs at that.

I am always astonished when a guest will be walking back to the midway after riding WWC with the comment "I don't know you would get THIS wet".

I supposed they missed the numeorus signs stating: "You WILL get wet on this ride".

EDIT: sorry, Congo Falls was closed I meant. I typed the wrong word.

They even missed the signs that said,"You MAY get drenched"

Personally I have never understood why the park even has them...what is the difference if you know what rides are closed before you go in? Who does it stop from going in?

Here is my "logic":

People like myself who drive hours to get to the park are not going to drive all that way and turn around if 1 or 2 or even 3 rides are closed.

People who live nearby are probably either Season Pass holders...or who have been to the park enough where they can live without a few rides not running...so I think they are also just going to go on in.

Am I wrong? blink.gif

Agree, the ride closed signs will not cause many people to turn around and leave (although I'd bet Terpy has found a ride closed somewhere and decided to move on to another park before). For me, they help plan the day and avoid the inconvenience of walking to a ride to find it down.

...(although I'd bet Terpy has found a ride closed somewhere and decided to move on to another park before).

I thought about that while I was typing up my post...but i'm talking about "normal" people! laugh.gif

Believe it or not, Terpy has never, ever left a park before entering it because a certain ride was not operating.

He has, however, often driven to a park to ride a single ride, rode it, and then moved on to another park or glittery blue ball of some sort...

What is this glittery blue ball you speak of?

I must agree, Action Zone was Action-less yesterday...Faceoff, Delirium, and Congo Falls, not to mention Son of Beast...

The only time I would consider not going to a park (that was before this year) was if Volcano was down at KD.

I would have happily went to BGE in the blink of an eye.

There is a system of personality analysis called the Myers Briggs. One of the classifications, a relatively rare one, is called ENFP. The joke is often told that ENFP's are intense, concentrating thinkers...until diverted by a glittery blue ball....Oh, by the way, isn't it neat the way Cheeto's get your hands orange? :)

Oddly, I typed that original post and now the MB is in the news:

As has been mentioned in other posts, Delirium has been down for some time. Word on the street (where the Dippin' Dots guy works) is that they are waiting for a part to be shipped from overseas.
