Coaster-King
I got an e-mail asking me to answer a survey. They asked about what ride would i like. They had Tombraider free fall, tombraider adventure coaster, tombraider rollercoaster, tombraider motion simulator, adams family frell fall, adam's family roller coaster, adam's family adventure coaster, adam's family motion simulator, Italian Job motion simulator, roller coaster, adventure coaster, free fall., and last but least star track. The main one that they are going for is Italian job roller coaster. ( It is like outer limits:Flight of Fear) The adam's family adventure coaster is a vertical drop coaster in the building and outside. What if one could come to pki which one would you want to come? Could one of them come 05? We will have to wait!
coasterrz
I personally think that the Addams family ride concept looks pretty cool. I don`t know if we`ll see any of the rides for `05 or not. I don`t know about the italian job themed coaster/ride. It only has four people per train which could result in a low capacity ride with long lines, aka Face Off and Drop Zone. I think that PKI needs a long, high capacity steel coaster for 2005. We`ll just have to wait and see what the rest of 2004 has in store for this year and beyond in 2005. (BTW, the pictures over on thrill research are rather interesting, and if PKI were to theme an Intamin or B&M ride lto one of those themes, then wow!) DegenRider
You can sign up to be a part of the panel. Buy a 2004 season pass and give them your email and you will recieve an e-mail about it. do not give out any of the concept art on this site. It will be removed. coasterrz
Simply go on over to screamscape for a link to the survey, which includes the concept art, if you really want to see it. It really isn`t much to see. Just a couple pictures of cars and a sketch of the Addams family house. No sketches of actual rides, just the theme that would correspond to a ride. RyanA
I believe the survey was based around another park, as PKI's 2005 addition is probably already decided upon. I really, really, really hope none of the TR ideas come to life, I personally like the fact that we have the only TR ride(even though the concepts are for different rides than our "official" ride). The Addams Family is definetly an unused resource though. The Italian Job, I don't know, seems a little strange.
Beastfreak
Aparently this email was sent to everyone who is involved with ANY Paramount Park survey list. My email came from Carowinds, but once I clicked on PKI as my home park, all questions were about PKI. So aparently each park is getting the same thing asked. The answers from all parks could be used for just one of the parks new rides, not neccesarily all. The main one that they are going for is Italian job roller coaster. ( It is like outer limits:Flight of Fear) I don't see where you got the idea of it being like FoF. From the definition I read it sounded like the Italian Job wild mouse coaster people had been suggesting as a cool new concept in other threads. Now unless any of these are HUGE rides, I don't expect them in PKI for 2005. Possibly afterwards or like I said earlier, for a different park. coasterrz
I agree Beastfreak, the ride concepts souonded like they aren`t for huge additions but for wild mouse sized coasters. I think that whatever PKi gets in 2005 will be big. While I would like the idea of another themed ride at the park, I don`t think we need one of those types of rides until after PKI recieves a major steel coaster, which might be in store for 2005. Scooby_Doo
i love the Adams Family Coaster idea...that sounds So AWSOME!
teenageninja
I like both ideas, but with all that theming those could end up being our big 2005 attraction. I don't mind though, they both look like good rides. I think the Adams Family one would be more thrilling, but since it's a vertical drop coaster (it doesn't have enough people to be B&M though) it may be pretty expensive. Maybe we will get more than one coaster for 2005, who knows.
AZ Kinda Guy
since it's a vertical drop coaster (it doesn't have enough people to be B&M though) it may be pretty expensive. Since when have artist renderings been 100% accurate?
Scooby_Doo
If you guys read the top of the servey they are considering ''ONE'' of those Concepts for there 2005 Attraction
coasterrz
I highly doubt that they are considering one of those rides for a 2005 addition. Most likely, the higher ups at PKI like Craig Ross, the GM, already know what will be built in 2005. Especially if it is a rather large ride/roller coaster as rumors have predicted. If that is the case then they are probably finalizing the design and specifics of the ride so that construction can begin.
s e a n
it sounds like the design for the italian job is based on walt disney world's test track. tt is an awesome ride experience, and if that is what they are modeling the idea after it would be a great addition to the park. coasterfreak75
I really can't see any of those rides at PKI in 2005. Like many of you I feel that the addition for 2005 is already decided upon. Still, the survey was a fun way to spend 10 min.
fryler87
If PKI does get either the Italian Job Coaster or the Addams Family Coaster, then it may be part of a package. Maybe they'd even come together as a package themselves. I took the survey too, and after finishing it, I decided to myself that it probably isn't geared toward just PKI. It's probably about any of the Paramount Parks. Just a thought I had. Like others have said, if we are getting anything for 2005, chances are that it has already been purchased and may start to be constructed within the next couple of months depending on its size. SML828
The Addams Family Coaster sounds really cool to me - especially if they go all out on the theming...It actually kind of reminds me of the Haunted Mansion at Disney World - with a twist of course! Like someone else said, I was also thinking the Italian Job concept sounds similar to Test Track at Epcot. I thought that ride was really cool - could be because it was only 30 degrees outside when I rode it?! Talk about a chilling experience! If I had to pick one of the two - I'd definitely go with The Addams Family Coaster - it just seems like overall it would be more appealing. Of coured, we're all just basing these comments on concepts/ideas - nothing definite. Oh yea, I don't see any of this showing up till 2006 at the earliest. Anything for 2005 should already be in the works...just the budget alone!
Captain Picard
I don't know what your survey said but the one I got said it was for next year. On behalf of Paramount Parks, I would like to invite you to participate in a important survey we're conducting to help us evaluate(( two new rides we're thinking about putting in one or more of our parks next year))
coasterrz
Yes, I know the survey said that. But I don`t think that by the time the survey is completed and they get the results, that they would have time to set up a budget, find all the manufacturers and finalize the plans in addition to building the ride on time for opening day 2005. Now of course that could be done, afterall, we are talking about Paramount Parks who have been known to surprise people sometimes. Realistically, I believe that Paramount Parks already know what thebudget for capital expenditures in 2005 will be, or close to it and I`m sure if PKI is getting the big ride that is rumored, that planning is well under way. From what I`ve heard the park wants to be absolutly correct when they pick their next coaster so they don`t have any snafus like when they built SoB. Scooby_Doo
First off this is Paramount Parks we are talking about....they are known for there surprises! i think come 2005 People will be VERY surprised Paramount Parks are turning there Amusement parks into Movie Themed amusement Parks Which is Awsome because i hate getting on airplanes just to go to IOA or Disney World i rather hang out some where closer to home! PKI Punk
I don't know about everyone else, but I would like to see PKI turn somewhat into a "theme" park. I feel that either one of these rides would help PKI on its way to becoming a "theme" park. I must say that I would hate to see PKI get another TR themed ride. But seeing the renderings, the Addams family ride, it looks pretty fregin' awesome! Does anyone know how they would get the Italian Job coaster to work, considering you would "feel" bumps going down stairs? Would the ride be partially inside?
fryler87
This is true that they stated in the survey that their parks were movie parks. I think that this could be good or bad for coaster junkies. PKI could end up like Disney world with only a couple of sweet rides, OR PKI could become more like Islands of Adventure and have some amazing rides and theming. PKI may be trying to make a turn-around to try to really up the ante.
Beastfreak
Paramount Parks basically are becoming "MOVIE" parks. All Paramount Park related material I have received so far this year... invites and coupons from No Coaster, 2004 Employee Handbook, and Mr. Siebert's email signature... have pictures of Paramount Pictures studios, pictures made into banners to look like they are on film strips, or the phrase... Paramount's Kings Island The Entertainment Destination of the Midwest Where Movie Magic Comes to Life! They really are trying to set themselves apart this year. I have the feeling that will carry on and we'll definetly start seeing more and more movie named rides and attractions. PKI Punk
I would really like to see PKI become a movie park and add to their theming. TR:TR has forever changed the of PKI...a "theme" park.
Captain Picard
Paramount Parks basically are becoming "MOVIE" parks. I thought that it was a theme park and their movies was the theme.
Scooby_Doo
Yeah i would LOVE to see PKI as MOVIE theme Park as for the Concepts of the Italian Job and The Addams Family...i think the Addams Family Coaster sounds the Coolest.... i guess we will just have to wait and see
Dino2003
all i gotta say is ''WOW'' Paramount sure does have some Kickin ideas My FAvorite is the Addams Family Coaster that ride would RULE! soo if PKI does become a MOVIE park do you think we will see a Ride Themed to The Spongebob SquarePants Movie? or do you think PKI will get the Spongebob Boat Mobiles?
crosscountry4891
It will take a long time and a lot of money to turn PKI into a real "Theme Park." It would be awesome if they did though!
