KI Haunt Hours

Featured Replies

Would you like to finish working at probably 4 AM and start your next shift at 10 AM? Because that's what would happen to the employees...

2:00 is the latest I can see the event open, and even then that would mean some departments wouldn't get to go home until well after 4 in the morning.

How do you know this?

well I have friends that are TLs and one got her Supervisor thingy mo-bob this year, they have to stay an extra 1-2 hours AFTER the other employees leave for paperwork, making sure everything is closed, imagine how it would work with haunt? Poor, Sam (Her name) one night didn't get to leave until 2 hours AFTER haunt closed....

^Perfect example.

Just because the park closes doesn't mean that all the employees get to go home right away. Most have to clean their areas for the next operating day, and can't leave until that is done.

As for opening, the employees don't just show up at 9:59am for a 10:00 opening they are there 1-2 hours before the public takes over the park prepping for the day.

Theses are examples of your average employee, not managers (obviously they would be there earlier and later)

I don't see a need for it to stay open until 3:00. Like flightoffear1996 said, a lot of times the crowds diminished after 12:00. As a scareactor, while I wouldn't mind the extra money, I'd definitely be worn out. Working Haunt's a lot of fun, but it is exhausting. I start my day job at 8:15 am, on Fridays I would leave that job and go straight to KI to work Haunt until 1:00... and that's just the time the attraction closed. That doesn't count the time we're there after getting out of costume and everything. So working 8:15am to 3:30am sounds tiring to me.

When Slaughter House started opening at 5:00 on Saturdays this year, two hours earlier than originally planned, I and a lot of the other scareactors there really felt it. But then again, we looked at it as two more hours to have fun scaring people!:D

The first year of FearFest when I was in management in Admissions, there were nights when we didn't get out of there until 4:30am because of all that we had to do afterwards. And then sometimes we had to be back at 8:00am depending on how our shifts fell. On those nights I was very grateful I only lived 10 minutes away!

Food has to clean up after the park closes (usually takes an hour or more, depending on the location) and starts opening 2 hours before the park opens.

Lets see when I worked in AZ Carts I could be schedualed 8-5, 7-8 or once on 4th of July 6:30-10pm (All starting times were AM) Closing was a whole new ball park
