IndyGuy4KI
DALLAS -- AT&T Inc., the second-largest wireless carrier in the United States, on Sunday said it will buy T-Mobile USA, the fourth-largest, from Deutsche Telekom AG in a cash-and-stock deal valued at $39 billion.AT&T will pay about $25 billion in cash and the balance in company stock in a deal that gives Deutsche Telekom about an 8% equity stake in AT&T.T-Mobile is coming off of two years of flat revenue as it struggles to compete with much larger rivals AT&T and Verizon Wireless. Bellevue, Washington-based T-Mobile USA's subscriber count has stalled at just under 34 million, though it posts consistent profits. http://www.indystar....xt|IndyStar.com Other articles: http://www.foxnews.c...bile-3-billion/ http://www.msnbc.msn...ss-us_business/ Share your thoughts! jdawg1998
Thank you AT&T! I've been dealing with T-Mobile for only a year, and I hate it! Terrible phones, terrible call quality.....now, they might be able to bring in the iPhone!
Dieseltech20
Have had T mobile for around 4 years now and have loved it. Never dealt with AT&T so I don't know what to expect. I haven't heard anything nice about them from people that use them though.
DegenRider
I've had tmobile for about 6 years and Cingular/Ameritech/ATT before that. I am sad that my great customer service will be gone. So will my not locked down phones. Only bright side is I'm a Uverse customer so I may be able to bundle all my services
kjkjkj
I have AT&T and I like it a lot. I have service where people who have Cincinnati Bell usually don't, so it gets pretty good covereage
IndyGuy4KI
Even though I made the poll, I never shared my opinion! I picked neutral, for I have Verizon and been very happy with them. Now, if I was a Sprint Customer I think I would be afraid my carrier would be gone in the next 3 to 5 years.
The Interpreter
Deal is subject to the necessary regulatory approvals, which may never happen (though they probably will)....
IBEW_Sparky
Beat me to it Terp, I also heard this morning on the way to work that the Regulatory Commission was going to be taking a VERY close and hard look at this pending transaction. I think I might be a little upset if they do let this go through, just from the competition that it takes out. Although I am sure the right people will receive a big donation from AT&T to get this done.
