CedarPointer
Unfortunately, it looks like they've removed the old drinking fountain next to Graeter's. It was missing today and an orange traffic cone seemed to be covering it's old water hookup. Shame to see it go, it gave that area some character. Nevermind, I'm an idiot, it's still there. coasterguy15
no! i walked past that yesterday and i thought it was awesome how they had left it there for that long.
CedarPointer
Maybe they're fixing it? It didn't seem to drain properly when I tried it earlier in the year.
Diamondback FOF
I don't think I've ever seen it...
RaptorGuy
Hopefully, it's just being repaired as it needed it. Otherwise, Graeters will be leaving. Part of the deal to bring them to Kings Island was that a fountain be installed there. All Graeters Ice Cream locations have water fountains.
CoasterGeek101
What are you guys talking about! An old drinking fountain What is so special about that? I don't get it.
CedarPointer
I thought that fountain predated Graeters?
Oldiesmann
What are you guys talking about! An old drinking fountain What is so special about that? I don't get it. There was/is an old drinking fountain hidden behind a caricatures stand right outside of Greaters. It was the only one not at a restroom and is the old pedal-type. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19824&view=findpost&p=386888

rotag
to some-what answer the question, the fountain looks like this... ...& in my opinion, gives the best taste in water. i know, your probably thinking all water taste the same. well it's not just remember the last time you drunk water from your faucet, & that of jimmies down the street.

CedarPointer
Really? When I was leaving, it looked like there was an orange cone covering up its plumbing hookup, and I didn't see the fountain anywhere...
XGatorHead 8904
Thanks Oldiesmann for finding my post from last year. As soon as I saw the original post in this topic I was going to find it but you saved me the trouble! I will probably be going to the park tonight so I will try to remember to see if it's there or not. I hope it is!

I could be wrong. But they would have removed it in the middle of the day.
rotag
you sure that your not refering to the cone thats overy by this window... ...which is bieng discussed here ( http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23923 ) which has a better photo of that area? CedarPointer
Okay, nevermind about the fountain, I totally thought it was in the wrong spot... nevermind, it's still there apparently!
TylerRider
Yea. I found it hard to believe they just decided to remove it half way through the day.

Dieseltech20
Just left the park and the fountain is indeed still there. It is closer to the door of the Ice Cream shop.
The Interpreter
Good. I see that bubbler as an important piece of Kings Island history. The mere fact it is there makes me happy.
Dieseltech20
Me to Terp, I was shocked to read that it was gone and very relieved to see it's not.
CedarPointer
Considering that it's still there, I hope they fixed the drainage. The two times I tried to use it this year, it was overflowing with water.
Oldiesmann
I wouldn't count on it. The drain's been plugged on that thing since a couple months into the season last year (I posted on June 24th of last year that it had been clogged the past two times I'd been to the park).
beastrider97
We actually have a couple of these kind of water fountains along "Old Springboro".
KIfan73
If there is another KIC event at the park, I think a tour of this fountain is definitely in order.
RaptorGuy
I am at KI now and I drank from that fountain today. The cone is out closer to the midway. It does need repaired though.
Sonor_Drummer
Hopefully drinking from it soon.

Part of the deal to bring them to Kings Island was that a fountain be installed there. All Graeters Ice Cream locations have water fountains. Thats where your wrong. Theres a Graters out by Deweys Pizza (if it how u spell it (but the pizzas amazing) ) does not have a water fountian outside of its store from what ive seen. And I think KI wanted to have a taste of Cincinnati in the park hince LaRosas, Graeters, and Skyline.
The Interpreter
It is with great happiness I can report the fountain is still there and working in 2016. After pushing the foot pedal, it takes a few seconds for the water to arrive. I always let it run a little while before partaking. The fountain bubbles merrily, the drain is working. Some of us care deeply about this artifact from time gone by. Thank you, Kings Island, for preserving this memory all these years. It is much appreciated.
