faeriewench Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 I feel like there was another thread, I did a quick search but I mostly skimmed so its likely I went right passed it... -______- So I apologize. I had a Platinum Pass last year, and I found the receipt (I'm assuming its needed) and I intend on renewing it, how much does renewing tend to cost? Quote
kingsrattler Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Right now, on Kings Island's Website, there is not an option for renewal, but on Cedar Point's website they advertise a savings of 5 dollars if you renew instead of buying a new platinum pass, which would put them at 164 dollars instead of 169 dollars Quote
faeriewench Posted March 28, 2012 Author Posted March 28, 2012 Yeah I already been planning on doing it at the park. And ugh 5 dollars? I'm such a penny pincher as is. Ah well, at least I now know not to expect any surprises. Quote
beastrider97 Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Not sure about the price, but I know there is an option to renew, as my father has done it for our family. I would imagine it being a little cheaper or the same price as buying a new one. Quote
kingsrattler Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 He must have done it over the phone, as on Kings Island's website, there is not an option to renew Platinum passes. If you have Gold or Regular, aye, it is an option, but for platinum, buying new is the only choice available... So new passes it is for Ms. Kingsrattler and I (and the condition of our old passes, probably not a bad thing anyway) Quote
Jasper Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 I have been asking myself the same question for a while now, instant renewal last year was so convenient and so easy to use. Quote
corn4ahead Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 has there been a definite answer to if we can renew our Kings Island Platinum Passes? Quote
Oldiesmann Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 They added the ability to renew them online recently, but it's still not that straightforward. Go to http://www.visitking...m/season-passes Click on the "Season Pass - Platinum" Tab Click "Buy Now" Click "Buy Now" for the adult platinum pass Click "Next" Choose your preferred payment option and click "Next" Choose the "Renew a 2011 Season Pass for this passholder" option Enter the info and follow the prompts from there. PKIVortex Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Ya I'm a little disapointed that they added the opition after I drove 2 hours down to the park and 2 hours back home from the park to get my Platinium Pass renewed. Quote
corn4ahead Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 That is so dumb. It is a hassle to get it. Oh well. Quote
Oldiesmann Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I'm glad I renewed my gold pass back in October when it was still quite easy to do. It's ridiculous that you have to go through so many steps to get it renewed online now. Quote
The Interpreter Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Hassle is right. My entire Six Flags renewal process, start to finish, at the park, took 2 minutes. My KD Platinum Pass has YET to be renewed, and I've literally spent HOURS trying to give Cedar Fair money. Industrial strength stupid. Customers should be served. Not poorly executed computer systems. Quote
Colonel_SoB_fan Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 I found it cheaper to not upgrade to a platinum pass even though I am planning a CP trip. Quote
jcgoble3 Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 I found it cheaper to not upgrade to a platinum pass even though I am planning a CP trip. How's that? Quote
CedarPointer Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Doesn't Six Flags use the same online store software as KI? Quote

Not poorly executed computer systems. Mine also and I'm basically waiting on word from you now And I'm not in a hurry to get to CF parks partly because of it. I am however booking a trip for some Holiwood Nights! Quote
Colonel_SoB_fan Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 I found it cheaper to not upgrade to a platinum pass even though I am planning a CP trip. How's that? I can stay on property and get discount tickets for 238 plus food and maybe Fast Lane. With an upgrade it would be 323.02 plus food and maybe Fast Lane. That comparison is for the same resort room at Hotel Breakers on property. Edit:Wrong property location Quote

Seeing as I live about 45 minutes from the park, anyone who did this, is it worth doing it online or would I be better off making the drive? >.> Quote
