April 25, 201214 yr http://www.weather.com/weather/tenday/USOH0566:1:US Looks like 40's and rain, earlier this week it said 60's and only 30% chance rain. O well i dont know about the rest of you but im going anyways :-)
April 25, 201214 yr Just yesterday afternoon it said 66, today it says 44, tomorrow it may say 60. Weather forecasts change daily, especially when more than 1 day in advance.
April 25, 201214 yr And while we are talking about Accuweather, their forecast for Saturday is 58. WCPO is saying 62. WXIX is saying 60. WLWT is saying 57.
April 25, 201214 yr Just looking at TWC's forecast, it looks like there's an anomaly in the data for Saturday. It goes from high 50's Friday to 40's Saturday, to High 50's Sunday.
April 25, 201214 yr You simply can't trust the weather channel. WCPO is most accurate. Highs in the 60s, 40% chance of rain.
April 25, 201214 yr You simply can't trust the weather channel. WCPO is most accurate. Highs in the 60s, 40% chance of rain. Not to get too far off-topic, but a quick question. What local station has the most accurate forecast consistently? I like the morning personalities on 12 the most, but living in northern Cincy, I often wonder if KY based stations are as precise as OH ones. Who has the most advanced weather system? Who's gonna say it's warm enough to ride???
April 25, 201214 yr Well to answer your latter question Kings Island is who determines the temperature in which you are able to ride. 40 below and you can't ride the coasters. Anyway I find WCPO to be most accurate.
April 25, 201214 yr I am going to be there regardless of what the weather is like. I know coming from Richmond Ky to the park on a day where it could be miserable sounds like a bad idea but I would not miss the excitement of opening day for anything.
April 25, 201214 yr I have mixed feelings on opening day bad weather. On the one hand, it would probably mean fewer visitors and shorter lines. On the other hand, I'd rather see Kings Island have a successful opening day for the 40th anniversary. It's great that it was 80 in February and opening day is cold. Thanks, Cincinnati, for your completely unpredictable weather. I'll be there, either way.
April 25, 201214 yr It was decided by an outside company that WLWT Weather is the most accurate (it's been told many a' times on the channel). Further, I agree TWC seems to always be wrong about Cincinnati Weather. Once it said that Cincinnati was to have Sever Storms....it was sunny and pleasant. I just don't like the WTC...
April 25, 201214 yr I always consult the National Weather Service for my weather reports. www.weather.gov
April 25, 201214 yr Seconded about www.weather.gov. Forecasts are updated a few times a day and it's nice in that you can use pinpoint very specific spots by using the point and click feature on the maps. It's especially helpful if you're traveling to a location like Los Angeles or Denver where the weather can be very different in different parts of the city. I'll be there opening day also. I'll probably head up early for ERT and then come back later on once crowds start to thin.
April 25, 201214 yr On Opening day...do they give out free things for the first 'X' amount of park guests for gold members? I thought they gave away laynards or drink refill bottles before. Just Asking. That might entice me to come.
April 25, 201214 yr Author im in the dayton area and their 24/7 weather channel (7.2)is saying in the 50's pretty much everywhere from cinci to toledo so weather.com seems to be calling it way lower than anyone else. btw that was march the ki area was in the upper 80's not feb :-)
April 25, 201214 yr On Opening day...do they give out free things for the first 'X' amount of park guests for gold members? I thought they gave away laynards or drink refill bottles before. Just Asking. That might entice me to come. Not usually.
April 25, 201214 yr You simply can't trust the weather channel. WCPO is most accurate. Highs in the 60s, 40% chance of rain. Not to get too far off-topic, but a quick question. What local station has the most accurate forecast consistently? WLWT, apparently a few weeks ago they were rated Most Accurate, based on the best predictions in the past year.
April 25, 201214 yr I'm entirely okay with it being cold and rainy on opening day, as long as it stops occasionally so the coasters will operate. If it's cold and rainy, the park will be empty!
April 25, 201214 yr Ew. I'm all for empty parks , but I'm happy that I won't be able to go Saturday . It looks like it will be terrible. If the low is 35 , that means that 10 it will most likely only be 40 or somewhere around there. Add in rain/wind, it will be feel like almost freezing ! I 'll be waiting until next Sunday.
April 25, 201214 yr I'll probably go if its good enough the coasters operate. If it's bad enough they don't operate, I guess not, because then there wouldn't be much point in going.
April 25, 201214 yr I don't care how cold it is or how much rain there is, I'll be there. I have been in severe withdrawal since October, with only a small reprieve in mid-December, and I need a fix for my KI craving. Hell, I'll wait in a six-hour line for Flight of Fear if that's what it takes to get my fix. Yes, kids, I'm addicted to Kings Island. And unlike cigarettes and drugs, this addiction is safe (for everything except your wallet).
April 25, 201214 yr Still going. I might get out the winter jacket though. Of all the days with 85+, they make opening day in the low 50's? I mean, wow Ohio. A little cold and rain might scare the crowds, so I don't mind, but just a tad warmer would be nice, but the warmer it is, the more people come.
April 25, 201214 yr Does FOF shut down when the weather goes to crap too? I honestly don't remember. No it does not. Great way to wait out the rain!
