Memorial Day Crowds?

Featured Replies

Have heard that the Sunday of a three day weekend is always the worst...is Memorial Day itself usually completely jammed? I'm thinking it probably would be but thought I'd ask...

Honestly, flip a coin.

I have seen both extremes at a few parks. There is no rhyme or reason.

Using CP as an example- usually not too busy on Memorial Day because it is far away enough from major cities that people don't leave the traditional picnics for a quick trip to the park.

Saturday & Sunday are a different story- especially this year with the fantasic weather forecast.

I would expect large crowds at least Saturday and Sunday - newly expanded waterpark opening to the public (with temps forecast to be in the low 90s), free admission for active/retired military personnel and discounts for the rest of their families, etc.

I'm planning on going Sunday and hiding out in the water park except long enough to go try and win Bank-A-Ball, if I figure out how to bend the rules :P

I was there last Sunday and it was unbearable.....

But, it was Trills and Thrills which is an awful day to go.

Its also supposed to be sunny and 90 degrees at KI this Sunday. So Id say it will be pretty crowded, but you never know...

Wife and I will be there on Monady, Not going for any big rides, just going to hit up some smaller carnival rides, white water canyon and then Soak City.
