Ice or no ice?

If it's cold to begin with, no ice. Otherwise, give me enough ice to make it cold and no more. The less ice there is in the cup, the more room there is for the actual beverage.

Except when dealing with hot chocolate, then I want no ice ('cause, y'know, it's supposed to be hot).

I must disagree about the hot chocolate as this is one of the most amazing things I've ever had beverage wise in my life.

Well, there's no ice in an Icee, and really is no ice in ice cream, but I still like them both. I like ice in ice water and I like to chew on the cubes (I guess that means I'm sexually frustrated or something like that). And Ice cold water melon is great but again, it has no ice. Ice Breaker gum has no ice, neither do the Ice Cube candies. I hate ice on my driveway, but in a rink for skating it's very neat. Ice Baby Ice is not my kind of music, but without ice a snowcone couldn't happen. So I guess it's 50/50, eh?

I've never heard of frozen hot chocolate. And that's in Santa Claus, IN? I may have to try that next year when I go down for Holiwood Nights.

After working in restaurants for many years I have learned that No ice is the best! 1st both Coke and Pepsi require the fountain pour to a temperature below 40. 2nd once you have cleaned a few hundred commercial ice machines you will never use ice! They are NASTY inside.

I personally detest ice! Over half of all restaurants automatically give you ice, and when you ask for no ice they still give you ice. At all of the restaurants I go to they know no ice for me. I wonder why cant they just ask, ice or no ice?

As far as ice goes, I prefer my scotch to be neat. No Scott would ever, ever drink scotch with ice. My other half might be German, but my other side is Scott. I prefer my Coke fountain drink to have a little ice cubes but not much as I am paying for Coke and not ice.

Because most people get ice, and most people know that you need to ask if you don't want ice.

Soda (especially Coke) foams up a lot more if there's no ice in the cup, so I usually get a little bit. Also, I tend to spill it on myself a lot less often if there's ice in it. So... ice.

This is America, not Europe bud. :) & no ice because it waters down the soda.

Arby's is the worst offender. Their fountain is not self-serve, and when I order my drink "easy on the ice", either they still put too much in because they never show the cup to me and ask if it's OK, or (especially if they're busy) someone other than the cashier pours the drink and isn't aware of my request for less ice, so I get a 20 oz cup with 14 oz of ice and 6 oz of liquid, which means I'm back at the counter asking for a refill before I even start eating.
