TheLip2
I am considering a little road trip next leaving next Sat afternoon and probably going to a couple parks on Sun, Mon or Tue. Probably just two of the days. We have Cedar Fair platinum passes. We have already been to Cedar Point this year. I have been to Kings Dominion last year. Girlfriend has never been there. I am trying to keep expenses to a minimum and will probably be packing a cooler and food and driving to run this on as low as a budget as possible. Trip A) Go back up to Cedar Point and probably spend a couple of days at Put In Bay seeing the World Famous Menu's Band from Cincy. Problem - put-in bay is not cheap by any standard. Girlfriend would like to hit The Firesides Winery up that way though. Trip Drive about 10 hours east to Dorney Park go there one day and Hershey Park which is very close one day. Trip C) Drive slightly less to Kings Dominion and then hit Busch Gardens in Williamsburg one day. Trip D) Drive slightly less again this time to Carowinds and also hit Dollywood. I haven't been to Dorney Park, Hershey Park, Busch Gardens, Carowinds or Dollywood. All opinions welcome considering the parks. Thanks, Scott
KIfan1980
C and D are both trips that I'd like to take. Dollywood and BGW are great parks.
BB1
D-Great waterparks and great rides!
thekidd33
I would vote for D too. The two parks compliment each other well in terms of rides and the atmosphere (not to mention the food) at Dollywood is hard to beat.
TombRaiderFTW
Never been to Carowinds, but you can't go wrong with Dollywood. The atmosphere's like no other park I've been to, and the coasters (which are but one of many reasons to enjoy the park) are phenomenal. (Plus, the cinnamon bread actually does live up to the hype. You have to try it.) Since D seems to be the general consensus, I'll vote for D, too. If it were still up in the air, I'd suggest B as well, as Hershey's definitely a unique park, too. It's got at atmosphere that runs halfway between Cedar Point and Holiday World--it feels like a small park, but has the ride count and size of a large park. Plus, they have Storm Runner. (Never been to Dorney.)
kblanken
Trip smiley face and trip D both look like the best two options, especially considering you have visited some of the other parks. I'd suggest looking at the weather report just before you leave, and If either of those have bad weather, don't choose that one.
MDMC01
I'd say D. Dollywood is awesome (if you go, Mystery Mine and TN Tornado are must-rides!) and Carowinds is pretty cool too. Haven't been to Carowinds in a very long time, but I remember it being pretty fun. EDIT: Oh yeah, Dollywood's pulled pork BBQ sandwich is amazing
TheCrypt
I'd say C. However, Busch Gardens deserves a day in its own. If you're looking for a great experience in 1 day, at least choose Busch Gardens.
dudecoasterman
Trip C for the win. Both Kings Dominion and BGW have a great selection of rides.
