Thanks for posting that!!! I don't remember that coaster, it was there when I was still in the ages of kiddy land lol and had been wanting to know more about it, but hadn't gotten around to looking anything up yet about it :) I'm now motivated to go look up King Cobra. I wanted to ride that so bad but they took it out before I was tall enough :(

Anyone think The Bat references could be kind of a historical comparison? The Bat was a failed design whose site that Vortex, a world breaking coaster, grew out of. Now we again have a failed coaster's site that is sprouting a world record coaster. Doubtful that is the intention, but it is interesting nonetheless.

A world breaking coaster.

Oh my, I knew some people didn't like Vortex, but I had no idea that it could... wow.

What? Vortex was the tallest full circuit in the world and the first with 6 inversions. You may know this. Not sure what you were saying

Emphasis on "World breaking"

Had the word "record" been placed in between them, the meaning of the sentence would be entirely different ;)

Oh I missed that! Oh well. Some newbies may not have known that about Vortex!

I've been busy for a few days and mostly lurking, liking posts, and most of all laughing my rear end off. I'm really going to miss this thread once its gone because it has been my entertainment for the last few weeks.

In reference to recent developments and to keep this somewhat on topic, I've come to terms with KI getting a refined, nearly end of production BM inverted coaster. If it is anything other than that I will honestly be somewhat disappointed. Montu is incredible and if this ride trumps that experience it will be great for KI, enthusiasts, and the general public.

Ninja.

Six Flags Over Georgia.

I consider that thing at least county breaking.

One of the worst ride experiences I've EVER had.

Even Ninja at Six Flags St. Louis hurts.

Before they fixed the seats on the Invertigo it was a bit rough on the back. Sadly one of the first things people want to goto. But it has been fixed!

Yikes!!! Those look freaky lol I have a fear of falling, so it would take A LOT of warming up for me to go to the front on something like that!!! Lol

"I ♥ Diamondback!"

Wait a second :P Just teasing.

No I do love Diamondback. Front seat hands up is still a thrill to me, though back seat freaks the heck out of me LOL. Now Drop Tower is another story. I HATE IT. I keep forcing myself to go on it thinking at some point I will like it but nope. Facing forward (down) on Invertigo terrifies me, as well. I'm scared I will fall out. I'm only 5'3 and 100 pounds :P I will NEVER go on EXtreme Skyflyer or Slingshot lol

The batwing esque element on the ride?

Montu's is a batwing. The blueprint looks more like a Norwegian loop. But it wouldn't surprise me for them to call it a batwing for marketing purposes.

And have there been any inverted coasters from B&M that feature a Norwegian loop? I think the ones that feature a similar element are all batwings.

Ughhh, Slingshot just isn't okay for me. I would much rather depend on carts riding on steel then a steel ball on steel cables. lol

First with 6 inversions, yes, but...as for tallest, it was actually 2nd behind...

However, back then I could easily see this ride being overlooked, especially since it's in Canada. And it kind of "cheats" to boost its height by being built onto a hillside, where Vortex is "all lift hill". So perhaps it could be debated.

Oddly enough, a similar situtaion exists now between 2 wing coasters- Cedar Point's Gatekeeper and Dollywood's Wild Eagle. Wild Eagle is actually taller, standing 210 feet in the air, but it's built on top of a large hill and only has a 135-foot drop. This picture shows this very well:

Gatekeeper is "only" 170 feet tall, but it doesn't have any "terrain height boosting" at all, so it has a 164-foot drop and Cedar Point has "World's Tallest Wing Coaster" as one of Gatekeeper's record claims...

A bit off-topic, but I felt like posting this.
