June 19, 201313 yr This makes me proud! http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2013/06/cedar_point_kings_island_rank.html
June 19, 201313 yr The original data on which this article is based has been discussed here: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/27470-2012-attendance-figures/ As stated in that thread, Cedar Fair does not release attendance figures for individual parks, so the TEA's numbers are unofficial estimates only and cannot be assumed to be reliable.
June 19, 201313 yr And along with that, many other companies do not release their official numbers. Not sure about SIX, but I was told by a director here at BGW that, because they are a publicly traded company, they can no longer give out attendance numbers on a park by park basis. I do wonder why being a public company changes that.
June 19, 201313 yr What if you are a stock holder, isn't the attendance figures included along with everything else that relates to the company in their report to the stockholders?
June 19, 201313 yr I believe so, because I have seen Walt over at Pointbuzz post official numbers before, but they aren't supposed to be made public. I could be wrong, though.
June 19, 201313 yr No. Individual park attendance figures are not typically a part of stockholder reports. Besides, there technically is no stock in Cedar Fair LP. Units in a limited partnership, yes. Stock? No.
June 19, 201313 yr Goes off to google the difference. This is the kind of stuff I wish college would teach.
June 19, 201313 yr Goes off to google the difference. This is the kind of stuff I wish college would teach. Pick a relevant major and it probably would.
June 19, 201313 yr I always recommend to college age kids to take a class on business law if offered at their undergraduate institution. Even if one isn't planning on becoming a lawyer, the knowledge gained can be useful.
June 20, 201313 yr Business Law is a requirement for a BSBA here at OSU. I believe I will be taking it in Spring 2014 semester
June 20, 201313 yr Goes off to google the difference. This is the kind of stuff I wish college would teach. Pick a relevant major and it probably would. I consider Computer Science to be a relevant major, possibly one of the most relevant you can choose in today's world, and I can assure you we do not ever touch on this. As it happens, I know a lot about this sort of stuff from working in QA for a company that develops accounting software. But I certainly didn't learn anything of the sort in college.
June 20, 201313 yr I'm a Business Administration major. I should have worded it better. I wish they taught that in the first two years of college.
