Do you wear a fanny pack to parks

Featured Replies

 That makes no sense, I see what he is saying but even if you put your stuff in a bin, it's going to be in the same bin if you re-ride with a single rider.

I can sometimes ride DB 6 times with only having waited in line once. I would get too anxious leaving it in the bin for that long!

One of the great joys of being older is you generally don't give a rat's patootie about what others think is cool or not.

  • I'm really sorry, Jonathan, but you did ask.

  • Was the point of creating this thread to criticize those who wear one?

^ I agree.I only leave my hat in the bins. I don't trust the crowds at KI enough to leave important things in there. To answer your question, no I don't wear a fanny pack. I wear cargo shorts.

^ Don't trust crowds anywhere.

I would only trust a crowd if it was a room full of Young Studs and I put my fanny pack down. Heaven knows he wouldn't dare pick that up!

^Hey........

I wonder if our resident Alex Rodriguez would be willing to wear a fanny pack every visit to KI forever in exchange for an Intamin giga addition?

:)

I used to bring a lot, but these days, I usually bring a debit card, my phone, and a small travel-sized tube of sunscreen. These stay in velcro pockets (which don't stay shut too well, so I usually reinforce it with safety pins). I typically bring a $20 bill, which goes in my shoe, in case somehow I lose these things.

Oh, and a souvenir cup as long as I don't plan on riding Firehawk that day.

My car keys also come with me, attached to my belt loop with a carabiner clip.

Never say never.

When I was a teen, with shorts males NEVER wore socks of any color other than white, preferably knee high tube socks with color bands. Now that's over.

And never ever socks with sandals.

And guys over about 8 never wore flip flops.

Times change.

People change.

There's that filthy lucre again.

Well, to be fair, if I'm using that cash, it means that I've just lost my debit card, and I have bigger concerns than the cleanliness of my money :P

My method for dealing with velcro pockets involves two rubber bands (for redundancy) and one binder clip:

Everything I carry with me is secured with a button, a zipper, or the office supply contraption above.

^^ Hey, it was the best I could come up with on short notice. ;)

Plus, when you're not on a ride, the entire mess tucks into the pocket and out of sight.

(I haven't actually used that office supply mishmash since finding a decent pair of shorts with secure pockets.)

I wear socks with flip flops all the time, while at the house that is. I barely ever leave the house with any footwear on besides tennis shoes, so as to not feel susceptible to danger.

I'm sorry, but you will never see me wear cargo shorts!

That's a fashion no no!

Cargo shorts are a fashion no no? Really?

Absolutely. That's why tens of millions of pairs are sold in the USA annually.

Then again, the same could be said of muumuus

That's what I was thinking. Call the fashion police, that's all I own!

Try wearing khaki shorts, (can be whatever color) and the ladies will be all over you; or guys if that's what you're into.

I also hear jorts are making a comeback.

Absolutely; yes.

And your jorts in your profile pic aren't a "no no?"

:)

EDIT: Never mind, he beat me to the punch.

Ask yourself this: Would Barney Stintson be caught dead in a pair of cargo shorts?

I just have to know if you had that outfit on all day at Kings Island and did Stud Muffin have any influence?

1. They don't card for ID for purchases at all, hell with a few friends, they grabbed beers and didn't even get carded then...

2. Fanny packs or whatever else you refer to them as to make yourself comfortable...they need to go. To me it's one of the bad things us coaster enthusiasts get tagged with...everytime I see one it reminds me of the coaster enthusiast meme on quickmeme

Like I said, an intervention may be needed. If this is the case of gladly meet up to help an intervention whilst nomming on a turkey leg by hanks burritos

True Story: My phone fell out of my pocket on my first Diamondback ride of this season on Opening Day.

Fortunately I had already planned on getting a new one, and like me, it wasn't smart.

Now I know if I don't bring my fanny pack, I might as well not go to Kings Island.

I also now know I should hold off on going to Kings Island until the Friday after Opening Day as crowds were much lighter.
