bengalsguy23
Were starting to see an improvement in food with additions such as the reds hall of fame grill. Will Cedar Fair make food more of a priority in the future? Oldschool75
Maybe he will help a certain area of the park that sits high and has been neglected for awhile? or maybe not?
malem
This is very good news. They have a great team, and it's clear with this announcement that food improvements will continue to be a high priority. Enjoyable meals are certainly part of many guests' "best day of the year". Anyone lucky enough to be invited to Banshee's VIP reception will certainly be in for a treat.

thekidd33
This is just awesome news! I love the direction the park (and really CF as a whole) have been moving the last few years. It is amazing how the 'little things' can make such a difference in both perception and actual overall experience.
jcgoble3
Yet another step in the right direction! I love the direction the park has been headed since Ouimet took over. Can't wait to see what changes there are in food next season!
upstop
Thank goodness the "people gotta eat" days are over. And the prior hot dog and hamburger feast that was Paramount, (at least at first). I also hope we get at least two, maybe three more table service restaurants.
Gabe
Maybe he can bring in Gordon Ramsay to help turn things around! He has a way of getting through to people
IndyGuy4KI
Thank goodness the "people gotta eat" days are over. That quote would have been just fine if the quality of the product was there!
XGatorHead 8904
The link says he's Kings Island's first executive chef. I'm fairly certain there was an executive chef when I first worked in Food Service back in '89. IIRC his first name was Frank, and he had an Italian last name. I know he was in charge of food quality, and I remember specifically that he complimented me on my display case in the Bakery during Winterfest '90, and I got an Apple Card for it. Unless his title was something other than "executive chef". Where's WooferBearATL when you need him? I know he would remember!

I'm very happy about this.
Diamondbacker
Good idea for KI! I'm glad that I won't have to leave the park anymore to get food when I can eat something with true quality in the park. I hope this brings another sit-down. Diamondbacker, hoping for a possible return of the International Restaurant.
BoddaH1994
The disgusting food is a thing of the past, although the service needs help every once in a while. I visited the park a lot this year and really grew tired of LaRosas, Skyline, and Hanks being the only relatively inexpensive options. I'm most excited about the variety that this will bring as well as the food quality that will make its way to the park in 2014.
FoF96"
Lol my usual "resturants" are La Rosa's, Jukebox Diner, and Panda Express
upstop
I really enjoyed the Reds Grille at Kings Island. I actually spent money that I don't usually spend at the park this year.
westcoaster
Yummy on the Tummy Kind of news, exec chef don't touch the Blue ice cream... it would be neat if graeters came out with a Banshee flavor icecream:

Existential
They could have just brought in these gourmet food carts that are all the rave nowadays and took a commission. I think that would be beneficial for these independent vendors and the park. Maybe not though. Crap.
LoraX
I really enjoyed the Reds Grille at Kings Island. I actually spent money that I don't usually spend at the park this year. We really liked this one. The last time we went in, it was bad. Bad service, cold food, and they made it right. Fed 3 people for $12, too. I was honestly shocked at the service because we had really good service until then. I love the garlic parm boneless wings. Oh so tasty. Existential
Get rid of all food vendors, lease space to gourmet food carts, take commission off the top. Everyone wins. Use that space for souvenirs and other attractions. Or not. I'm not in the amusement park business just logistics...
The Interpreter
How do you think Graeter's, LaRosa's , Skyline Chili, CHICK-Fil-A and Panda Express work now? Terp...who...likes to ask questions.
upstop
Kind of looking forward to an International Food and Wine type festival at Kings Island. Think it could happen?

Existential
I understand that terp...but those are bigger entities, taking up unneeded space and supplying a product that is less than healthy and in some cases, not even delictable...(alright...you got me on graeters...it is delicious to most). I wasn't too serious...until I thought about it. And in most cases...not even being a foodie at all...I would prefer the new found food carts to all the pretzel and nacho stands. It helps the local entrepreneur and offers better food options at much less real estate and with a higher intake of money. It was just off the top of my dome. No thinking involved obviously. The Interpreter
I bet you'd find that overall sales, revenue and profit would all fall with such carts as the only alternatives. What the public buys and what it SAYS it wants are two different things.
Existential
True for sure...and I thought about that...but in what role would the gourmet overseer play then? The majority of the public must not care.
The Interpreter
Gourmet overseer? McDonald's has a chef....
Existential
I ate a pretzel the last time I was there terp. All day. There wasn't food for me...and I had to eat. I could have spent 30 bucks on food easy...but there was no offerings for my taste. I know I am the 10 percent though.
