fryler87
This is a waste of a topic, but I know of two things that we are getting. One: Boomerang Bay (and the more obvious yet overlooked one...) Two: A new sign...wheeeeee!!! I can't wait to see what it's gonna be like, I hope it's sweet. P.S. I really don't care if this topic is closed or deleted.

PKI_Man
the new screen is gonna be a LCD Screen like the roberts center outside of wilmington
Dane
It is not clear when the sign will be done. It has become project and is now in the design stages. The target done date is opening day of the 2004 season, but remember this is only a target date. Meaning it may not be done by that time.

Beastfreak
To far out of my way, sorry. Just imagine the the Jumba-tron at any ballpark/stadium.
fyrfyter
the new screen is gonna be a LCD Screen like the roberts center outside of wilmington Actually, they do not make LCD panels that big. Not to mention the fact, that LCD's are pretty fragile, and two pieces of glass for a sign with liquid crystals between them would be heavy as lead. Most jumbo-Trons and the like are Made with LEDs, or Light Emitting Diodes, the same kinds of LEDs that show up on video Game consoles like PS2, when you turn them on. LEDs are cheap, efficient, and last a really long time, without using tons of power, and overall they are lightweight. The cost is pretty steep, a 41ft X 24ft Sony JumboTron like you see at all the stadiums, will set you back an easy $6.2 million. Now there's a heck of an Xmas gift! bradb055
That is correct fyrfyter. I believe most, if not all, jumbotrons are led's. As far as the price goes, I'll just have to take your word on it.

fryler87
So with a new sign and Boomerang Bay going in (the only two big projects), I can't wait to see if PKI spent some good time and money on making the park look great. If it does for next year, a huge ride for 2005 would sure make PKI a revitalized park. Let's see what happens...
