TTD-120-420 Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 It is not letting me paste links, photos, or anything else into my comments. Along with that, many other people's posts containing photos comes up with a box with a red "X" in it. To view the pictures I have to right click and select "show picture." How can I fix this?
jcgoble3 Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 Testing: https://www.facebook.com/ EDIT: Everything's working for me. Firefox 25.0.1 on Windows 8.
jcgoble3 Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 Good question. IE 11 is already known to have issues with forums (such as the inability to quote posts).
TTD-120-420 Posted November 29, 2013 Author Posted November 29, 2013 I am using Internet Explorer, but I am not sure what version because I know nothing about computers. I used to love Google Chrome, but it started making my laptop crash every time I even opened it. I had to uninstall it.
CP&LERR Fan Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 I used Internet explorer and it was giving me the same problems, I now use Google chrome and it works fine. Mozilla Firefox is another option.
TTD-120-420 Posted November 29, 2013 Author Posted November 29, 2013 I'm currently downloading Firefox. 3
thedevariouseffect Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 I use Doge 2.2 Beta Best browser ever 2
TTD-120-420 Posted November 29, 2013 Author Posted November 29, 2013 Testing Firefox: Yay, it works. Thanks everyone! 9
The Interpreter Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 For an old whatever the heck I am, I can occasionally solve an IT problem, to the astonishment of both me and the IT folk. Not using MS can cure a multitude of problems, quite frankly. 8
thedevariouseffect Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 Yup...Run linux, life gets so much better 8
TTD-120-420 Posted November 29, 2013 Author Posted November 29, 2013 I have a question about Firefox now... I'm trying to watch a YouTube video and it says I must install a plugin to view it. It is a Flash plugin and I have downloaded it three times now and it still won't work. What do I do? I have noticed that Firefox does not have a automatic spell checker. Can I get that somehow?
TTD-120-420 Posted November 29, 2013 Author Posted November 29, 2013 I got YouTube to work, but the spell checker question still stands.
The Interpreter Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 There's an add on for that, too. Do a search. 3
malem Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 Firefox does have a built-in spell checker. It must be disabled. Right click inside a text box and check the option to enable it. If there is no such option, it means that Firefox doesn't have a dictionary installed for some reason. 1

Good thing im not alone 3
thedevariouseffect Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 At first I thought it said Oprah 8
The Interpreter Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Slooooow server this morning.... I may have to skip the tip. 3
TombRaiderFTW Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Anytime I ever have issues with slow servers anymore, it's always when I'm on KIC in Safari on my iPhone 5 running non-jailbroken iOS7. (I'm not sure if iOS7 can be jailbroken yet, but I thought I'd toss that in just in case.) I wouldn't think/know if that has anything to do with it, but that's when it happens to me. I haven't had any crawling servers in a couple months when I'm on a computer. Then again, I'm using my phone to get online exponentially more than a computer these days. (And before someone wonders from this description--I'd wonder it myself--no, I'm not confusing slow servers with poor cell phone data reception.)
The Interpreter Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 iPhone and Safari here, too. No, it's not cellphone reception--no other site I visit is similarly affected.
upstop Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Microsoft forced an IE update to version 11 on my computer in a background update the other night. The only way I found out was that things were not working. I found out by checking my IE version in properties. I had to manually remove version 11 and restart my computer to get version 10 back. This is the second time this has happened this year. 1
malem Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Terp: how long does this url take to open on your phone? It's taking anywhere between 100ms and 300ms here. (Slow, but not excruciatingly slow.) http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?s=afbeb1deed66f75b555073f1b21e2f9e&&app=members&module=ajax&secure_key=bc4f8e462c5599bc39d50dc72dcd320f§ion=card&mid=6611
The Interpreter Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 And the problem is inconsistent. Right now, things are loading lightning fast. 2
BB1 Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 This happened yesterday a few times: I noticed I had a new like on a topic, but did not get a notification till a few pages later. 1
Sonofbeast2.0 Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Anyone else having issues unliking comments? I can like them then it will pop up the unlike, but if I reload the page, I can't unlike it, the little box isn't their. Note: tired it with IE 11 and Chrome version 32, both gave the same results. 5
