June 8, 201412 yr I really hope they are able to get things fixed soon, whatever they are. I've lost a ton of weight since last summer and I'm excited to see if it's no longer painful to ride Drop Tower!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
June 8, 201412 yr So a "Ride Associate" ( the source didnt want me to tell who he/she was) told me that before opening day, they had ordered cables for Drop Tower, but right before opening day, they had decided that they didnt like the cables. So, they decided to order new ones from a different company. So that took a long time. But yesterday, they had already replaced two out of the four cables. AND i figured out what the big whatevers did. They were the steel couplers or whatever you call them that held the cables to the catch car. (Shocks?) They were not the shocks under the gondola. But there were only two whatevers on the ground and two of them were holding cables! :) But of course, now its running, so i am a bit late on posting this.
June 8, 201412 yr If it does open soon, the information that I was told by a random park employee was incorrect. I am shocked. Excuse me while I pick my jaw up off the floor.
June 8, 201412 yr Maybe I'll tell after Drop Tower is open. It's nothing shocking. Just the time frame I was told was different than anything else I've seen on KIC. That's why I didn't post it on here. I actually laughed a little when the guy told me.
June 8, 201412 yr Associates really shouldn't be telling any guest what is up with a ride. It makes for misleading information most of the time.
June 8, 201412 yr The ride op said they have to run a certain number of tests today before they can open and they're still in the low numbers. But they should open today, weather permitting.
June 8, 201412 yr I'm watching it cycle right now from a nearby location. Weather and family matters will keep me from attending today though.
June 8, 201412 yr Yea I'm in chicken shack and it is defidently cycling today Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
June 9, 201412 yr Not sure how I feel about them using non Intamin parts on Drop Tower if that's true. Sometimes its not good to use aftermarket parts. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk
June 9, 201412 yr I'm usually not one for droppy things, but I do like Power Tower and Liberty Launch.
June 9, 201412 yr I did end up visiting the park after all. My wife and oldest daughter took a ride on the tower that drops.
June 9, 201412 yr I got a seat facing Banshee right after sunset. You get an amazing view of Banshee from the top. I wish there was a way that I could legally take a picture from up there.

Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk I'm not sure which part they replaced. The word on the street was that it was part of the motor, but it's also apparent that the cables were installed yesterday too. Regardless, I'm sure that they either used Intamin parts, or parts that Intamin recommended. You have to remember that there are dozens, if not hundreds, of parts to each ride that were not manufactured by the ride maker.
