Jayblazer
I'm going to Holiday World this Saturday. Not as part of Holiwood nights. Just on a regular ticket since this is a budget impromptu trip. My questions are do they have on ride photos and if so how much are they? Also I sort of love the "Keep calm and ride the Voyage" shirts. Anyone know the price on those? Banshee Back VII
They do have ride photos. I got one on Voyage, but I can't remember what the price was.
TombRaiderFTW
Voyage has on-ride photos, but I think that's the only ride that does. I haven't bought one in years, so I don't remember how much it costs. I also don't recall how much shirts cost, apart from being under $20, if I'm remembering correctly. jcgoble3
Voyage and Frightful Falls are the only two rides with on-ride photos. I don't know the prices for sure, but I believe they are under $10. Shirts are typically around $15, though you can sometimes find older shirt designs on clearance for under $10. The Keep Calm and Ride Voyage shirts might not still be available though; they were the HWN shirts last year after the family feud resulted in the de-theming of the event, and a lot of enthusiasts complained when they were made available to the public (previous HWN shirts were not sold outside of the event itself). Paula has said that those complaints have been heard when she revealed this year's HWN shirt, so they might have removed the Keep Calm shirts from the shops. jcgoble3
Just talked to Paula on Facebook. She isn't sure of the photo prices, but says that you can send an email to fun -at- holidayworld -dot- com to ask. As for the Keep Calm shirts, they are apparently no longer in the shops after the enthusiast complaints; the extras will be offered for sale at HWN check-in. However, if there are any left Saturday, you might be able to buy one by asking at Guest Relations.
BoddaH1994
Wait.... I'm not the biggest Holiday World guy. I went to Holiwood Nights in 2006, which was my only visit. Get me up to speed on the "family feud" and how it affected the t-shirts... and why did the enthusiasts complain about the "Keep Calm" shirts? I know they have had some ownership feuds and stuff, but I HOPE it didn't boil down to a t-shirt... -Ryan... who is asking an honest question. The Interpreter
The "family feud" was far from that. It did and has affected virtually every aspect of the park. The park has new management compared to the past. What was done in the past has often changed as the park strove to seek a 'new direction.' Like other management changes, some things are well received, others are not. The park continues to adapt, as all parks and managements do, some better than others. The t-shirt thing was a symptom, example and result of the changes, not the cause of them. The park at first changed some things simply to change them. That era is hopefully over now.
APE
I can't stand all of the keep calm stuff. It's just dumb in my opinion.

Essentially, each year HWN is themed to a particular movie, with twists on the title and poster to connect it to coasters. The modified poster is used on the front of the event flyer and the back of the t-shirts. One year E.T. became E.R.T, the next year Ghostbusters became Coastbusters. 2013 was themed around the movie Big (which became Dig), and the modified "poster" kept the line "Have you ever had a really big secret?" but replaced the face with that of Dan Koch. As a result, speculation was everywhere that a major announcement would be made at the event. Then Dan was cast out by Lori, and all traces of him were removed from the park, such as announcement recordings and yes, the HWN poster. Since it was too late to come up with a new theme, the 2013 theme went to "generic coaster event", and the shirts (which would otherwise have featured Dan on the back) became the Keep Calm and Ride Voyage shirts. Initially, people loved the shirts, but the complaints started when HW made the shirts available to the general public through the online HoliShop. HWN shirts had always been exclusive to the event, and enthusiasts were upset that their special event shirt was being sold to the public. The 2014 event that starts tomorrow is resuming the tradition of movie themes and exclusive shirts, so it appears to have been a one-year thing caused by Dan's face basically filling up the poster and Lori wanting none of that. So she simply removed all traces of Dan from the park, and the shirt was just one of the casualties. The complaints about it being sold to the public are, as far as I can tell, unrelated to the feud.

She is AT the park, how difficult is it to take 5 minutes to call or walk to Voyage and get that price? Don, and also Bryan at CP, walk their respective parks daily, and Im pretty sure even they would do whats positive P.R. for said parks to get the answer for someone who made an inquiry. SMH.
