Losing Streak

I was scheduled to work 11-close today, so I got to the park around 10:10, on purpose. My girlfriend and I had planned to ride at least one ride before my shift started. We managed to ride SDATHC, waiting in line from the exit, and we got out of the ride at about 10:45. I walked down to my stand and clocked in. I didn't go on a cart today, I was a fake foreman (crew leader). I got to walk around checking on all the carts and taking them stuff. I also got to make pretzels, and I have a nice burn to show for it. The skin is actually blue. Anyway, I did that until about 4:45, when they told me to go home, because I was no longer needed. Great. I thought I was going to have to wait until close for my girlfriend, but it ended up that she got off early too, because I am her ride. We went down to rivertown from her area, and got in line for The Beast. We waited in line for about 5 minutes, and we were 1 train from getting on, and then it broke. The lapbars in certain areas of the train stopped going up, and they had to manually release them. We waited about 30 minutes for them to fix this, but it seemed like there was no end in sight, so we just left the line. After that, we went home.

Things I picked up today:

Delirium was closed from about 11 until mid-afternoon because (i heard) someone broke their arm. Anybody know anything?

The Park was expecting around 30,000 people today. At around 12, there were only about 7,000.

Drop Zone broke down at some point in the day. The purple thing that pulls the seats up was stopped halfway up the tower.

not a chance, it will most likely be a very good day to go. With the Easter holiday and all. I am looking foward to ride TR:TR. My friend said that it broke down a few times today ( nothing serious, longest was only a few minutes). They did tell him though: " we will be runinning a night shift tonight to work on the ride all night long so we can finally get these problems worked out. It will be open tommorrow no matter what." So thats a good thing.

I was about to get on The Beast when it broke down. I chatted with a ride op and he said it was something with the circuit breakers. But basically the restraints wouldnt open. About 4 mechanics came to fix it. Then in line for TR:TR it broke down for awhile. I was the second rider of the day on Delirium so luckily got to ride it before it broke down. Overall it wasnt a bad day a PKI.

How could anybody manage to break their arm on Delirium? Get dizzy and fall out of their chair? No the seatbelt would stop them. Umm, how about tripping on the curb? Well mabey but if you break your arm falling forward, you need more calcium. laugh.gif

in all actuality, most people break their arms by landing on them in some way or another. Usually its kids that do this, and do break their arms falling forward. It wouldn't surprise me if someone of a small stature/build fell forward and broke their arm, especially in teenagers, since sometimes they tend to grow a little out of proportion.
