Haru-Kun Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I'll chime in with the walk on's, from 6 to 9:30 yesterday we rode whatever we wanted as many times as we liked. 1 Quote
ohioparksrock Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 We were there from 10-2:30 yesterday. Best day st the park in a LONG time! 1 Quote
kikid74 Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 And things were open during the rain from 10-noon yesterday? 1 Quote
kikid74 Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Metal detector / bag inspections today. Worst part of it is have to get through this line to get to the bathroom :-( Already though, seems to be going much smoother/faster than our May visit. 3 Quote

ohioparksrock Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 And things were open during the rain from 10-noon yesterday? Some things closed briefly but everything was reopened by 11:15 or so. Scrambler, bumper cars, etc... were still open so we killed our time between roller coasters reopening with those! Still got 3 rides on Banshee, 4 on Racer, 2 on Bat, 2 Beast, the flats, and had lunch. Longest waits were Banshee for people not fitting! 2 Quote

ohioparksrock Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I wish... one of the kiddos wasn't 54" yet. The girls didn't want to exclude her! 2 Quote
Sebastien6221 Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Can't wait til my youngest is big enough, not taking our kids when I go. Oldest won't ride anything, youngest is disappointed she can't ride everything lol taking a couple teens we know with me. Sent from my XT1526 using Tapatalk 2 Quote

Sent from my XT1526 using Tapatalk Riding Screaming Eagle at SFSTL with my oldest once he was tall enough was the best. Fortunately we didn't have to wait 2 hours for it like I did in 1976. 1 Quote
kikid74 Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Very short waits all day :-) so far. Thunder has closed many rides. Flat rides (at least in Coney Mall) still open. A lot of people stopped to eat...others headed to concert. 1 Quote
The Interpreter Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 If they stopped to eat, that oughta keep the ride lines short for several hours or so. 3 Quote
kikid74 Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Coasters are opening. Never rained here, but we could hear the thunder and briefly saw lightning to north and west. It just missed KI. 2 Quote
chuck norris Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Metal detector / bag inspections today. Worst part of it is have to get through this line to get to the bathroom :-( Already though, seems to be going much smoother/faster than our May visit. Now that there are permanent structures to shade the security guards at the main entrance and Soak City I've seen them doing checks every single visit. I don't think they are random anymore... I think this is the new normal. Personally I believe the wait is worth the security... Both to myself as well as to the public relations of the park to prevent an incident from happening in their park. I'm frankly surprised by how offended people are by this process. I can assure I have never waited as long in this line as my shortest wait at CVG airport security. 4 Quote
The Interpreter Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Quite frankly, I was floored when Cedar Fair removed the front gate metal detection/searches after it acquired the park. I truly think it was irresponsible, naive, penny pinching. See also stopping tram service. 3 Quote
malem Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 I just wish they'd add a "no bags" line, so those who pack light don't have to wait behind people getting their suitcases inspected. 2 Quote
King Ding Dong Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 +1 on the security searches. They were much more thorough at SFSTL with the bag checks. My boys used their swim team backpacks for the waterpark and we ended up having to throw away a few Sharpies one time. I even saw them refuse entry to a guest with marijuana graphics on his shirt. 2 Quote

King Ding Dong Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Graffiti. They are not metal so if they were in my pocket I could have kept them. No pat downs yet. 2 Quote
Sebastien6221 Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 I would think most people would use then to mark things like individual souvenir cups and what not. Sent from my XT1526 using Tapatalk 1 Quote
APE Posted June 24, 2016 Author Posted June 24, 2016 Soak City seems to be very crowded. All of the slides I can see from where I am at have long lines. When we got here at 1 I waited through a long line to get food at whatever this food joint is called by the wave pool. It took about 20 minutes but I was impressed thought it would be longer. They had all 5 Windows taking orders. 2 Quote
dtk1378 Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 The new system they have for doing orders at the food place in Soak City has greatly improved their speed of service. I also like that they now have a queue line for food there as it at least keeps the line from going halfway through the walkway. 2 Quote
Imperial79 Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 That's really good news! It show's they care about people having a happy day er should I say FUN day at Kings Island! 1 Quote
malem Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 The park is pretty dead today with the heat. Wait times from the Ki app: 4 Quote
King Ding Dong Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 Wow. It is 86F/43%. Seems perfect park weather to me. Much cooler and my oldest would complain about freezing after WWC. Quote
malem Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 Everyone seems to be at Soak City, so it's a great day for the dry park. The weather the rest of the week looks to be too pleasant; hence why I went today. 1 Quote
freaks76 Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 I haven't been anywhere for a while. It's about time. Somewhere. 1 Quote
malem Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 Walk-on city now. We'll see what happens when the waterpark closes. 3 Quote
Gannersdaddy Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 So far the longest wait was in Kings Island drive. Part of the right lane heading north is closed off with construction 1 Quote
