Woodstock Gliders

Featured Replies

You need to start aiming the wing in the opposite direction BEFORE you reach the farthest extent of your swing. So, aim toward the outside to swing in that direction, but before you swing out all the way, turn the wing back to the inside. A little before you plunge all the way to the inside, turn the wing back to the outside.

Or get there when LoraX is, and watch her :)

LoraX needs to get to Charlotte.

There are little noises, then there's loud noises, violently shaking the entire ride and scaring helicopter parents in line....

The possible results are different.

Different designers, different times, different goals.

Larson scooters are not the same.

One can pretend otherwise, but it still would be to pretend.

And even some other Bisch-Rocco scooters are not the same.

Looking at you, Holiday World...

I had Kings Dominion's Flying Eagles snapping pretty good when I was there last, but nowhere near as good as the Woodstock Gliders at Carowinds.

I've had no difficulty in really snapping the ride. Even with the new ones. Which is the Only ones I've ridden.

I've been able to get close to turning the ride around beyond the perpendicular direction the ride goes and snap it towards the ground even to a point in whic the ride will jolt forward because I've slowed it down that much ( just the car I a in thank you. )

On a windy day, the wind whips through the alley from the Picnic Groves past Surf Dog and you can actually turn around backwards....been there....done that too!

If you want to snap a flying scooters ride, head to Carowinds. I have yet to snap the flying scooters ride at HW, CP, KD, and KI. Most of those scooters you can turn sideways pretty good though. Carowinds' flying scooters were the easiest to snap and boy did they ever. I literally thought the ride was going to break when I was on a cycle with almost every tub snapping. It was incredible.

Larson scooters can make noise. A good set of Bisch-Rocco scooters can turn corkscrews if you know what you're doing.

The KI set has some wicked snaps with massive ejector air. The trick is sitting on the right side of the tub with your left hand on the back right corner. Take your right hand, and push the fin in as much as possible when starting. When you turn the fin out, try to keep the tub as tangential to the concrete circle. When the tub is about to reach maximum height, lean into the fin, making it point downward. Your body should act as a dynamic part of the tub. That should help snap!

There is not only a noise, but a loud snapping sound. The only fault I have with the ride is the cycle length. Add 20 sec, the snaps will be insane.

But, I've already gotten my tub to snap with a 45-55 degree tilt each time. The ride already has insane snaps. 20 sec more wont make a difference.

for you.  For someone like me who got 1 snap in and couldnt get it back or the multiple others who cant... It helps limit the amount of snaps.  The ride is situated right on the border.

Whatever you want to call it, I got my tub to buck like a bronco several times during ERT today (a light breeze usually helps me a lot). You can say it's not "really" snapping or whatever you want, I just call it a lot of fun!

Well done... By watching the video, I think I need to turn earlier...

You need to keep the tub tangent to the concrete pad.
